Lamar Jackson

Right. Just because I think Lamar’s Gucci clown suit looks like shiz doesn’t mean I’m uncomfortable with it. It’s an opinion.
I will say though that African dog necklace he wears gives me the creeps. lol

Was going to to get into this and decided against it.

And I like the chain.

Yeah, it's all subjective and really down to personal taste (I happen to think his necklace looks dope AF). Aside from the cowboy hats, I think Marlon might have the coolest looking outfits on the team though.

Yeah I’d wear that necklace myself honestly

I was out earlier listening to 98 Rock in the car, they quoted Harbaugh where he said these bad games are not defining moments for Lamar, but just a part of his story that will be told. Man I hope he’s right.

ebbs and flows happen in all seasons - it's just been more pronounced for lamar the last month because we have no running game to carry him when he's not playing lights out and it magnifies every mistake

literally a month and a half ago we were talking about lamar having truly taken that next step to completely unstoppable

He said the same song and dance last year. I'm starting to think this is how Lamar is. Outside of one amazing year, which ended in disaster in the playoffs, he's been this way, with flashes of brilliance here and there. Hardly anything to pay Mahomes type money for.

I think the line also plays a major part in that too. Didn't most of his struggles happen once Mekari was out? I don't know.

Mahomes had a 9 point performance in Super Bowl with a poor line. I'll give Lamar the benefit of the doubt, particluarly with all the injuries.

And who do you think you could get that would be better?

Flacco, bring him back with these weapons and watch him shock the world

That's what's worrisome, he looked to have turned the corner. TBF these aren't "ebb and flow" mistakes, more like consistent poor decisions. Every QB will always make mistakes, but it's been much more than that. Hoping he will get it together but as others have mentioned it's beginning to become a pattern.

Opposing DCs have identified a weakness and are attacking it mercilessly. Pressure on our poor line means pressure on Lamar. He's been superman for half a season until the OL injuries piled up too high and defences exploited it. I have no doubt this will be fixed by a combination of Lamar getting better from experience with this type of pressure and better OL play.

And it’s hard to fix a weakness like that when you’re so undermanned because it requires more than just Lamar to get it right - the OL has to make the right reads vs blitz looks, the back has to pick up the right guy too, the receivers have to identify and adjust their route the right way - and Lamar has to identify and execute too

but we’ve seen that even when Lamar gets it right something else goes wrong like the OL sliding the wrong way and leaving more than 1 guy unblocked or letting guys jump and put hands in the passing lanes, we’ve seen receivers not ready to receive the ball on hot routes or just dropping the ball and yes we’ve also seen Lamar miss or hold onto the ball too long

but it’s more than just simply a “Lamar” problem

It is worse now because of all the injuries (16 or 17 on IR?). He’s being pressured like never before. He’s thrown 13 picks but he’s been sacked 37 times. Highest in the league right now. He also leads our team in rushing, many of those runs while being forced. With no running game (minus him) and poor blocking it’s been chaos for him. But like you I’m concerned about his decisions. There are plays there for him and he’s just not pulling the trigger soon enough.

Lamar needs to take more quick hitters and things will open up the way he wants them to

Definitely. He's been trying to force too many plays which has led to sacks and/or interceptions. If he could just take some of the easy, quick passes then I think defenses will start to back off a bit.

He’s been doing that all year. I’ve seen a lot of double clutch throws from him, it’s a concern for sure, especially when he double clutches on easy completions but pulls the trigger no hesitation on deep throws back across the body into coverage

It all boils down to critical thinking skills and making good decisions based on the situation. i.e. If it's the first drive of the game it's third down and you're being pressured hard throw the damn ball away and take the 3 points. Every play doesn't have to be a home run for your team to win, you gotta take what they give you when you can.

Some dumbass on RSR wants to shut down Lamar for the year because he’s developing had habits trying to play hero ball all the time. I’m grateful fans don’t run the team
