Bahar has been cut and we've added Chris Streveler to the PS (who was released to make room for McSorley in AZ). We certainly increased the swag in the QB room with this change.

Da’shawn hand released and receiving injury settlement, expected to be ready to play again before playoffs.

feels like a complete no brainer to add an Alabama DT who had a 3 sack rookie season very recently. The potential is clearly there and he seems like at worst a very quality rotation on the DL.

with the injuries we've had on the DL then for sure - will depend on what offers he gets of course

might see a few more of these types of deals around this time

hes subjected to waivers right? Seems like a good acquisition.. but we’re pretty far down the waiver priority.

Mekari doing surprisingly well at RT. I know he's on a 1-year deal. Anyone know if he's going to be a restricted free agent next year? Or is he going to be unrestricted. Hopefully we can tender him for cheap.

he'll be an RFA

and this is sort of as expected given his play level on tape through the year - so a surprise 2 and a half months ago but not anymore... they're probably being a bit kind to him in terms of run blocking but partly that's going to be because he's technically very sound so hard to call many of his losses truly losses - but his technique and footwork mean that he's been a very proficient pass protector - you could see he was not quite right yet coming back from injury when he got run over by the bears a little bit but he looked great against cleveland and jadeveon clowney

his downside is his length but he's aware of that and mitigates it somewhat - it limits his ceiling and he'll never be elite or dominant but he's been reliable and solid and consistent and those are 3 incredibly valuable traits in an offensive lineman and especially a tackle - not the end of the world if he's playing by any means but certainly someone we'll probably want to upgrade from if we can in 2022

Joe Thomas was a short shit too

some guys just know what it takes to compensate and have the goods to execute it very well. Not to say mekari is Joe Thomas but you get the point.

I maintain that the mekari lacking length becoming a problem thing was speculated by Spencer Schulz in the offseason and it’s been parroted ever since

That's a really interesting graph, I knew he'd been playing well, but I didn't realise it was quite to that level. With the unknowns of James and Stanley coming back next season (I'm assuming not Vilaneuva), it makes you wonder whether they'll be shooting for a developmental mid round tackle or an early round starter to add to the room.

he's a RFA next season. This is his 3rd season and he will be an RFA at the end of 2022 also.

and at this point I believe we could go into next season with him at RT and JuWan James as the swing tackle, but if James can win the starting job, that wouldn't be bad either.
