Lol any other excuses we should throw in there to discredit Roman or Huntley this week? Just give the guys their due already. If the past two weeks are any indication of what to expect from a vanilla offense, sign me up for more

No one is discrediting it. In fact, it's impressive that they were able to take a guy with Huntley's limitations and make him look more than serviceable. However, it's a simple fact that the vanilla offense they ran which was one read and throw is not sustainable in the NFL though. There's a reason there's complexity in the first place.

I haven't gotten that impression at all, at least not from PF. I wouldn't be surprised if there were those people on reddit/twitter/fb though

They can’t say it aloud just yet, that would require a backbone. Trust me, when Huntley’s inevitable coming back to earth party occurs, those fans will be the loudest

Yep i agree eventually he will have to up his game and evolve slightly. Huntley will be a solid back up for a while. It’s is pretty impressive when you turn on tape from the Buffalo game last year and compare it to the Packers game. The elongated throwing motion has shortened a lot. We got some solid coaches behind the scenes.

It has certainly shortened but that's also why you're seeing some floaters. That motion is what brings the velocity and strength. Just doesn't have that natural arm strength when he does shorten his release.

oh my god dude - these arent excuses and im not discrediting either of them - they did really well in tough circumstances but it's very unlikely a team will replicate what the packers did defensively if huntley has to start again

it was most obvious on 2 throws that come to mind for me - one on an out that took forever to get to hollywood on the outside and was just waiting to be picked off and the other on an intermediate crosser that took so long to get to it's mark that it took hollywood out of bounds

I cringed for Hollywood on the first play you mention. I thought his back was gonna get destroyed.

I'm hesitant to mention his PFF grades, but his pass blocking, which has been good in most of the games he has played was at it's best yesterday with a 76 grade. Run blocking was 50, but it's not like we even tried to develop a running game yesterday.

This is an exciting development! I'd been a bit underwhelmed by Cleveland up to this point. If he keeps it up until the end of the season and we re-sign Bozeman in the offseason then we have a nice solid IOL going into next year.

We should have ran Murray on the two point conversion
I say run freeman, he has been money in the red zone for a while now, Murray is predictable and sluggish and against a loaded box and heavy run blitz he’s going down for a loss I think, freeman attacks more than just the A gap and he can slip through the cracks and defenders can’t even see him because he’s so short.

yeah 100% - he let loose after that - i didnt even think about the confidence it might have given him but that definitely could have played into it too - a mix of anger and newfound confidence in his body
You protect that injury until you realize you’re gonna get yourself hurt trying to do so.

the best way to protect yourself in football is playing full speed and just letting your bodily instinct take over
