Stanley over Tunsil was one of those quintessential actual GM vs. Armchair GM picks. What Stanley lacked in tangibles (very little) he more than made up for in intangibles coming out of college and it has been proven out over the course of the two rookie contracts. Humphrey vs. Ramsey is...

    The Random Thought Thread

I’m digging the Scott hype. My takeaway is that WR really is a crap shoot. If you don’t take a couple every year you’ll never find one. If we approached WR like we approach DL we would’ve had more than 1 above average drafted receiver (Torrey) in the Newsome era. Though we would’ve had fewer...

But Adalius Thomas was a system player... he was barely average in NE.

More of this. And this. Honestly I have no idea how things are going to shake out with Jackson and that’s what I like about having him at QB. Would you rather be hoping for order of magnitude improvement from guys like Darnold, Allen, or Rosen? Or have the type of season that puts you in...

Welcome to Baltimore: Jaylon Ferguson and Miles Boykin

I think the biggest upside with Boykin is his coachability. Combined with his agility I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t learn to be more sudden in and out of his breaks. We shall see.

    Free Agency 2019

I’m not optimistic DeCosta makes this move given his desire to get out of salary cap hell. Comes a year too early with the B.Will contract still on the books methinks.

Welcome to Baltimore: Jaylon Ferguson and Miles Boykin

Watch the clip on BR.com, he mentions it twice. He might as well have said “no homo.” And to everyone that’s “outraged,” I’m not the PC police but public people need to be careful about that kind of stuff in this day and age. Keep it in the locker room. Just don’t want the kid getting caught up...

Welcome to Baltimore: Jaylon Ferguson and Miles Boykin

Great post but one nit. He made an eyebrow raising comment about the Sack Daddy nickname in a presser. He said the nickname was given to him by teammates after a 4 sack game and he (jokingly) told them it was cool but not to call him that in public because people might get “the wrong idea.” I...

I didn’t understand Marty’s approach with him at all. The Buck Allen comparison is spot on, although I think he was a much more consistent pass blocker which got him the nod over Allen. If I saw one more play with Montgomery trying to get around the edge I was going to lose my mind. He was...

    Lamar Jackson

Re: Lasley I think it’s all about preparation. If he does what he’s always done it’s a guaranteed nobody in the league. If he looks at a guy like AB and puts in that kind of work he can be successful. And for the love of god I hope it does.

Welcome to Baltimore: Earl Thomas and Mark Ingram

Isn’t this the same point I expressed in my post? If anything that article is an indictment of the coaching staff for not having the appropriate backup plan in place. I’m certainly not suggesting that communication doesn’t matter on the field. Our entire defense is predicated in the players...

Welcome to Baltimore: Earl Thomas and Mark Ingram

My point is that it’s a matter of position not some type of measure of a player’s ability. For example if your best player by far was say...Aaron Donald, you wouldn’t have him wear the green dot because he is not positioned on the field in a place that is conducive to wearing it. Yes you are...

Uhhh...how many all pros did we have on defense again? Good lord. Edit: Man I’m still trying to wrap my head around this comment. Are you comparing a mike linebacker to DBs? Or are you saying Peanut was better in coverage than CJ and therefore he wasn’t our best player? Please help lol this is...

Just defending my guy against pot shots on the inter webs. I don’t think Lamar is winning any academic achievement awards any time soon either and he certainly does boneheaded things...I’m just not big on insults. Around the NFL: News and Rumors

I’m calling it now, the Browns are going to collapse under the weight of expectation and then that powder keg of a locker room will do the rest. All eyes on Freddie Kitchens.

Lamar is a child who was raised on social media and made it out of poverty on talent and work ethic alone. To call him a dumbass for doing something silly or not having an extensive vocabulary is to reveal jealousy and the need to tear others down due to one’s own impotence. (Not you, others.)...

Welcome to Baltimore: Earl Thomas and Mark Ingram

I agree but I don’t think it’s blasphemy to say that, at least for the past few years, Suggs probably held us back a bit in the pass rush category. I think we have an opportunity to see even more rotation at EDGE with Suggs gone and while I expect our run defense to weaken a bit, I’m hopeful we...
