    2026 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

My hope for this draft is that we don't pick anyone who doesn't play on the lines until at least Day 3, preferrably not until R5. We've neglected the trenches for too long and no amount of DBs, WRs or TEs is going to cover for that weakness

    2026 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

I don't really understand the concern about spoilers. (Not that I'm going to spoil anything here.) Spoilers for movies and TV could rob you of the fun of seeing the story play out along the way but, with the draft, it just undermines Goodell on the mic and he's hardly a thrilling speaker, so...

    The Random Thought Thread

The new unis are nice but besides the black one they're barely any different. It was a lot of build up for some tiny tweaks.

That's why I think the 5th year then the Tag is the way to go. On average you can get most of a WR's best years without paying for his decline.

Overall, WRs don't tend to produce a whole lot past the first year or two of their second contracts. The very top guys are the exception and I think they obscure the fact that the position is a lot more like RB and corner than we usually consider it. (As in, most players are already declining...

He has been improving and I hope you're right about his longevity because I get the feeling we are going to extend him.

I don't either really (but, as I said, that's a GM problem) but nor do I feel confident that he'll be able to do it for years to come at a level that justifies a high price tag. I like Zay. I don't want to sound like I don't but his key skill is his ability to separate quickly and that fits...

There are always plenty in the draft so, in theory, it shouldn't be too hard. I know we struggle to pick them but that's a scouting/GM problem rather than something that should affect contract decisions. Maybe that will change with Harbaugh gone maybe the #1 priority doesn't always have to...

I know this will put me on the opposite side from most Ravens fans and probably the team too, but I'm not too excited about the prospect of Zay Flowers getting a long term deal. He's the best WR we've had since Mason, maybe ever, but if you look at WR 2nd contracts, they have a much higher...

    Jesse Minter Head Coach

He's the experienced old head on the offensive side that many peopl have been asking for. This entire coaching staff seems to be coming together really nicely. Thank you Tyler Loop for saving us from seeing Lamar in a Matt Nagy offense.

I don't think the Rooney rule was designed to be virtue signalling. I think the older Rooney, who proposed it, the one who hired Tomlin, was not a racist and he genuinely thought that if they got minority coaches in front of owners, they would pick the best candidate, as he had. It's very...

If a new OC does what Monken did in his first 2 years - the best offense in the NFL, 2xMVP play from his QB - they'd get a HC job after Y1. If he was 20 or 30 years younger Monken would have been able to pick his job.

I just hope Monken doesn't try to steal Snoop away from us. EDC keeps proving he's disastrous at finding a back up QB who isn't called Tyler Huntley and I don't want us wasting draft picks or money on another one of his misses.

Monken is a good OC but he comes over as too much of a grumpy old bastard to be a HC these days. It might go like it did with all those Belichick assistants who tried to copy his hardass act and just ended up with the players hating them.

I suppose if Josh Allen really wanted him they have to go along with that considering he is the team, to maybe an even bigger extent than Lamar is here because their newly promoted GM/President hasn't managed to put much talent around him (other than an O line).

Brady is solid but I don't think he's special. Though I'd have said the same about Monken before we hired him too and we had the best offense in the league for a while until the O line died, so maybe that's enough. He has at least dialed down the 'look at me, aren't I so clever' side of his...

The story is that Kubiak is quiet and low key and doesn't have a head coach personality. Though that was the story about Ben Johnson too and that turned out to be crap. On the other hand, he could turn out to be another Josh McDaniels. Who knows?

Obviously I've got no idea whether Ledford is a good O line coach but he was, apparently, the best name on the market and the one everyone wanted to hire so this seems like a win. He's got to be better than George Warthog anyway.

Great news. McCarthy isn't a complete disaster but he's not going to frighten any Ravens fans either. This is so much better than it might have been for us. The Steelers will stay the +/- .500 Steelers, only they probably won't steal as many wins against us without Tomlin's witchcraft
