I know that's the commonly accepted narrative but I think it's more like they drafted Lamar to run the Roman scheme with and then got surprised by just how good he was. For me, that explains why they kept him in, and limited by, that scheme for several years too long. That would fit better...

I think he did really well to construct an offense around Tua's limited skills that actually made him look good until defenses caught up. Deluded Miami fans were calling him top 5 and better than Lamar at one point. I don't know if he was too rigid or if was the case that no other offense...

I think they'd gel really well. Lamar seems to love fast players - judging by target shares - and McDaniel's offense is all about speed.

I'm sure he has but that's atrocious people management skills. He's have to grow a long way from that into someone who can lead an organisation successfully.
