Georgia 6'4" WR Colbie Young reached a top speed of nearly 20mph in the gauntlet drill while showing off great hands. Probably went from late round to mid round prospect.
Mike Washington, a 6'2" 228 RB, just ran a 4.33 40. And he plays with that speed. He's a RB that could put up monster numbers on the right team. Part of me wants to take a swing on him in the 2nd if he's still there.
He worries me a little since he feels like a player that should be better and more consistent than what he actually was during college. But I could see Minter turning him into a really good 3 tech on the line.
Closet to Lamar would probably be Randal Cunningham. The only other guy I've seen with Lamar's combination of shiftiness, ability to improvise, and arm strength.
It's why Brady and Peyton Manning were so prolific. Both would take an easy 5 to 10 yard completion without hesitation every time. They always kept the chains moving.
Guard Reed-Adams from Texas A&M looks like a diamond in the rough. His technique is a bit rough, but there's clear improvement over time, and he has the physical and mental traits for a good mauler in the trenches.
Most starting linemen in the league come from the second through 4th rounds. Wouldn't surprise me if some later picks ends up being the best in the class. Should never reach out of desperation.
For me this feels like future proofing the offense. If/when Doyle becomes a HC somewhere our offense will stay well coached regardless of who we get calling plays.
Obviously the Seahawks are gonna be heavy favorites, but I think this is gonna be a close one. The current Patriots reminds me of the early years of the dynasty, able to drag a team down into a defensive slog and winning ugly with late game clutch plays.
Honestly he's great to have around for the run game, including how to use a mobile QB for runs. Roman in charge of the run game is a better hire than Nagy as OC.
