Jesus Christ, this team is going to give me a heart attack this year.
With no QB and barely a full roster, they got the job done. I call that a win in every sense of the word.
This is it boys. This is the crossroads. The season either launches to the stars or unravels completely today. Lamar's out so we get a look at what heart this team has.
They're saying gameday decision so anything up to 1.5 hours before kick-off. I would have to guess he travelled or we would have heard he isn't playing.
We should re-sign Bozeman because he's a starting quality OL and that seems to be increasingly rare. I don't want to assume we can simply plug yet another gap with inferior players. We've seen how rare and valuable decent OL are this year. Nobody will even trade their backups.
I heard that's partly down to Roman's complex verbiage so maybe simplifying the play calls should be a goal this off-season. You could argue that pre-snap adjustments are the next natural step in Lamar's growth anyway.
You could make an argument for it but they've had a long look at him by this point and haven't been tempted to try, so you've got to wonder if he really offers anything.
Why is Ty'Son Williams still coming up? He doesn't have it. He can't see the hole and when he does he's scared to hit it. It's not Harbaugh's dog house, he's just not good enough.
I bet there's a guy out there. Didn't Alex Collins come off the Seahawks practice squad and light it up one year? Just no idea who it is. We should have poached Jordan Howard.
No-one's asking why Ty'Son isn't playing anymore but maybe McCrary would be worth a snap. We should be scouring practice squads but at this point you have to assume that there's really nobody out there.
Dude, did you miss the part where the historically great rush attack turned into an explosive downfield pass attack this year..?
We really couldn't look much more different, and it's probably because of the RB injuries.
Watkins is another great example of all the catastrophising going on. Read back and you'll remember that people loved him before he got hurt, but he's had a bad game now so screw that guy.
We're 6-3 right at the top of the AFC by the way.
With the injuries, we're a mediocre roster being carried by a superstar quarterback. The result is that we'll be inconsistent as hell all year. This team could go and win it all or not win a game again all season and I wouldn't really be surprised by either.
This was my other question - if Lamar's walking to the line and he sees the same old engage 8 with nobody in the middle of the field, surely he has the option to check in to a slant?
Also what is up with the sudden surge of 'fire Roman' comments? We're just a few weeks removed from people giving him props for developing an explosive downfield passing game, we're playing with running backs we found on Craigslist, and the OL is battered to breaking point. The offense has been...
