Not saying Marlon is going to get cut but it is definitely a possibility if he plays at the same level next year, but that is a long way away.
I agree with your second point though there will always be core players that we need to pay $$$ to to keep but imo that’s a good problem to have...
If you're good at drafting you don't need to ever go all in, just look at the Chiefs this year. You need to be adaptable and take the best players available while not sinking the little cap space you have into players who aren't worth their contracts and have some luck with avoiding debilitating...
I dont think age matters as much for RBs compared to other positions considering most teams are reluctant to give RBs a second contract. His usage is a different story though.
Sure I agree that he needs a replacement but I don't think that occurs for a year or two since whoever we draft will need time to be ready. There is literally no one at guard though after this year unless you count Sala since Cleveland may as well not exist.
I’d argue OG is a bigger need than OT. This might be Zietlers last year and besides him we have absolutely no one worth mentioning. At tackle at least we have Stanley and faalele who seems to he coming along, albeit slowly
I mean SF was more than capable of winning it all with Mr Irrelevant, Jalen Hurts definitely had a good shot too and Cinci I don’t think I need to bring up
Our roster would be one of the best situations for any rookie QB to come into. Great Oline, great TEs, great RBs, and I have no doubt that we would get DHop if we don't have Lamar's contract taking up cap space.
I doubt we draft a RB with a healthy RB room this year. JK, gus, and Justice is a good stable and adding a 4th probably takes away a valuable roster spot when we can just keep one or two backs on the PS.
You actually don't think Duvernay will attract enough attention to receive even a 7th round comp pick? Oliver was TE3 on our roster, albeit a good TE3, but still got a contract worthy of a 5/6 round comp pick. Even if he plays at his current level next year he's still a pro bowl returner and the...
True but Robinson doesn't have the return ability that he does, even if teams return kicks less and less every year. I'm assuming that we'll need to sign/draft two players to replace Duvernay which is at least a pick + vet min or two vet min contracts which would be at least half his salary in...
I agree 4.5 mil is a bit much for a WR/KR but if you assume you’ll have to invest a pick, which we have few of, and/or sign a 1 or 2 FAs to replace his offense and ST production idk if you can get that much of a better deal given the market.
Duv is a good WR4 and frees up a roster spot that would be used on a returner, so I don't necessarily want him cut, but he is not the WR2 that many were claiming he was early in the season
