    2024 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

Teams will tell you they loved the players they got, because what else are they going to do, but they're not always as happy with the way the draft worked out as they claim. The Ravens have often solved the problem positions that fans worried about in the off season, but not always. When they...

    2024 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

Who said it was? How often do the Ravens really go pure BPA? When a real talent we weren't expecting to be available drops, like Hamilton, we do, of course but otherwise, our first pick matches up with our biggest need more drafts than not. DeCosta talks about how need and positional value...

    2024 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

I'm not sure we have the luxury of going full BPA this year after letting 2 affordable OL starters walk and adjusting Stanley to a one year deal. I think another position player would have to be a full tier above an OL for them be a better pick, such is the corner they've backed themselves...

Bateman on an affordable deal seems like a really smart move. The Y5 option seemed like too much to pay so essentially taking the same money and turning it into a Y5 and 6 option is a really good compromise. WRs that can get open in the NFL are never going to be cheap. I still believe in...

It's not so much that he plays differently in the playoffs - it's that he plays so much worse. I'd love to hear him address it and say he's working with a Sports Psychologist or something, because, with how often it happens, it's got to be a mental block. With just two average regular season...

    The 2024 Offseason Thread

Also from the presser, the way EDC talked about different types of Edge rushers made me think they're looking for a power rusher this year to complement the speed rushers they've got.

Yeah, I caught that but I didn't necessarily take it as a clue that he wants to take one early. That might be an un-Ravens like chasing of positional need over BPA

    The 2024 Offseason Thread

Agree with all of these except your CB note. Maybe I missed them implying they want one early. EDC did say wanted to add one but I was surprised how little it was mentioned compared to OL and WR. A few things you didn't mention - EDC more or less said they WILL draft an RB somewhere from...

He sounds like a Steeler, unfortunately. They'll draft him late, he'll look great for them and we'll all complain that we should've drafted him, he blows up and gets kicked out of the league.

I don't know. A running play with a longer run up to get up to full speed seems tailor-made for Henry. They might be tempted in big moments.

Maybe it should. Teams punt much less than they used to. It won't matter much this year, when the roster probably won't have its usual depth, but going forward I'm not sure they need to care as much as they do. With special teams, I think you don't need to be great. as long as you're not...

They are, but that's still quite a reduction in the need for a traditional special teams specialist. Last season, our special teams were the worst they'd been in years and we still got the No.1 seed, so maybe it didn't matter all that much anyway, even before the change.

I would guess that whatever we were offering Clowney will be more than enough to re-sign Van Noy with a bit left over. Just as long as they don't spend any more of it on core special teamers. With kick offs now turning into running plays it just reduces the value of a Chris Board a little...

I've been worried about this possibility. I don't like the idea at all. Trading away Likely would leave us thin enough at pass catcher that we'd likely have to use whatver pick we get on a WR or TE to try to replace him, if Monken's offense is to function correctly.

Interesting. I wonder if this is a hint that Mekari is going to be their preferred starter at RT and Jones is being brought in to back up Ronnie on the left?

We still have a strong secondary with great starters but it's a thin group. I wouldn't really count Hamilton as a Safety fully. He's Hamilton, the movable piece that makes our defense work, but that means you need quasi-starters to fill in the positions he isn't in. Washington played as a...

I hope not, but we have a lot of roster holes to fill. I also just don't like the player and the roster fit. Other than Zay, we have two 4th year WRs playing for their future and Agholor as the vet. To me, that room is crying out for a Day 2 (preferably) rookie.

    2024 NFL Draft General Discussion

That's almost certainly what the Ravens will do. However, if there is a tier break in the Ravens ranking of OL players they may want to get into range of their last R1 graded player, whoever that is. It's unusual for the Ravens to find themselves almost needing to find some Y1 production at a...

? Not quite. I'm saying I want WR to remain a position of priority for the draft - along with OL and DB. We'll only have Zay under contract in '25 as things stand.
