My guy was never able to confirm all of the CB trade possibilities (and seemingly that was on purpose from his source) but it does sound like if/when White gets up to speed, you might see some more Stephens at S to round out the year.

Not sure if it makes sense to move Stephen to safety. He hasn't played there since 2022 but getting white involved will make sense as he's probably more disciplined when it comes to zone coverages

I didn't get the impression it was a full time move type of thing. He'd potentially rotate back at times to (a) get Marcus Williams off the field and (b) get better cover guys on the field. Obviously, that requires Tre White to be healthy and effective though.

White hasn’t been up to speed in 2 years. I don’t mind the trade because they gave up nothing but he seems to have gone the Jamaal Adams career route. Tons of skill that just suddenly fades due to multiple injuries.

Yeah I mean, it's a risk, but it's a minor risk. It sounds like they were actually in on Lattimore and felt they made a competitive offer, but there was no way they were beating what Washington came with. So if you can't get the top dog, it seems they settled on being able to get a guy that has played well in the past for peanuts. Get him in the building and see if you can get him back to that level. If so, you just improved your defense for virtually nothing. If not, no big loss.

Yes. I think I'd rather see Armour-Davies get a shot in Stephens role first. It's a long shot that White is going to turn back the clock at this stage.
Before he got dropped, wasn't he the only CB playing worse than Stephens this season?

Also sounds like the rams were wanting to take it slow with tre white and ease him into the season but had to play him more than he and they wanted early

Still possible he has some juice to come back later in the season

I agree but it just seems weird to be making plans about how they are going to use a guy “once he gets up to speed” when he hasn’t been up to speed in years.

I don't think they're necessarily counting on that being the case, rather bringing him in and see if he can get there. If it doesn't work, they'll try something else.

Had a feeling he wasn’t making it through, but no big loss to me

Adams never looked like an hof to me.. maybe out of college but once he got in the nfl, he couldnt do nothing but blitz

Adams was one of the best all-around safeties in his 2nd and 3rd years. That raw numbers back that up as well. In those 2 combined, he gave up 44 completions on 81 attempts, 441 yards, and 3 TDs with an opposing QB rating of 72.1. All of those are among the better marks among his peers. Then he goes to Seattle and falls off of a cliff.
