Signings, Cuts, Trades

Someone with the cap space like the commies or Pats will be able to land him for a value. Likely a mid to late day 3 pick.
If not, he’ll have to be cut? I don’t think a lot of teams will be able to fit that cap number
Assuming there's no reworked deal, any team would probably convert his 2025 comp to a bonus, and spread it out. So he'd probably cost like $12M against the cap in 2025, which wouldn't be that big of a deal for a lot of teams.
His 2026 salary isn't guaranteed, so he's basically on a one year deal. If he didn't pan out, they'd just cut him and take the remaining like $8M in dead $ in 2026.

An extension at a lower total comp would be ideal for the acquiring team, though. I think absent a new deal that pays him significantly less than $40M over two years, the trade comp they'll get for him would probably be pretty low. A day 3 pick, and maybe not a high one, I would think.

Man, Cooper and The King on the same team? Would be a dream come true!
I love Cooper Kupp, but with his injury history and what it would cost to trade for him, I'm not sure I want him here.

I'd prefer signing our own players than going big in a trade or free agency, unless we could land a Parsons or Garrett and that's not happening.

I don't think he'd be a great fit.

We don't want him taking targets away from Zay and Bateman, who threaten deeper these days. Then we've got Lamar, Henry, Andrews and Likely who all move the chains.

The extra receiver we need is someone to back up Zay and Bateman's roles, I think.

Probably won't happen, but I think he'd be a great fit for us. We haven't had that gritty, catch everything, versatile WR since Anquan. I'm know I'm biased here as Kupp has been one of my favorite non Ravens players(along with The King) since he entered the league. And I have to say, he could be THE difference maker come tournament time, dude is a baller!

Came across this while looking for his contract terms;

The Baltimore Ravens have a history of bringing in big-name stars who are on the back end of their careers (SEE: Steve Smith Sr. and DeSean Jackson). Kupp would join the Ravens offense as the third or fourth receiving option -- behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman -- which is ideal at Kupp's age. Lamar Jackson would greatly benefit from having a sure-handed Kupp in the middle of the field. Kupp's salary could make it hard for Baltimore to acquire him, but I love the on-field fit.

Kupp WOULD be that extra receiver who would backup Zay and Bateman’s roles though. Plus he’s a man-beating demon and one of the best run-blocking WR’s in the league. At his age and with his injury history, him as the third WR would make a ton of sense for both parties, cost-permitting.

Cooper Kupp is not going to be happy being the number 3 wide receiver in this offense and rightfully so. Doubt Bateman would be happy with being demoted either . Highly doubt the team can sell the idea to Kupp to back up Bateman and Flowers . It's not like he's chasing a ring cause he already has one and it's not like he still didn't have a fairly productive season last year .

Ravens got to learn from the Diontae Johnson's situation and not try to fit a player into a situation that has higher chance of not working out. I doubt Kupp would refuse to play like Johnson did but Ideally I think it's wise to add players in this offense where it makes sense. I also think this offense would benefit more from a pure outside receiver that can take the top off the defense.

On the outside chance Cooper comes to Bmore I don’t see him needing to be what one would consider a WR3. He would immediately be the most accomplished WR, and best hands in the room. And IMO his size and skill set fits Lamar’s game and our offense much better than a burner would.

I saw someone, somewhere, write something along of the lines of: “Zay is our YAC/horizontal guy, Bateman our vertical guy, and Kupp would be our reliable chain-mover”, and I loved that. I could be wrong but I don’t remember the last time we had an exceptional “chain-moving” WR with amazing hands since Steve Smith/Q/Mason.
