Please explain...

he's still my safety 2 but he's now similarly graded to emmanwori
think the instincts are great and the movements are super fluid on the backend
think he's got good man coverage skills albeit he can squad and get overaggressive a bit

idk that the skillset is one i'd want to take at 27 given what we need from a safety we draft but starks is a good prospect - probably a top 20 guy on my board (albeit the grade is more like late 1st... it's a weak class at the top)

Is Tampa going to be our starting outside corner next season? Lol

That actually could be the case and par for the course with the Ravens. They often give 3rd and 4th round picks limited snaps as rookies before turning them loose after.

After all wasn’t he supposedly the rookie making all the plays last offseason?

He spent most of the offseason hurt.

Regardless, there’s obvious talent there. I’m not sure he’s a guy I’m thrusting into a starting role but you’re never going to know if these guys can hack it unless they get playing time. He seems like the quintessential CB4 who gets reps and either works his way into a bigger role or shows we need to keep looking.

This is JAD year
There might be a player in there somewhere. He genuinely looked pretty good in the preseason and then wasn't particularly terrible on his few defensive snaps.

I wouldn't totally write off his chances of a 4th year breakout. That has burned me too many times by now.

His issue has always been health, not play. I'm still somewhat of a believer. I wouldn't count on him but he's a guy I want around competing still.

For reals.

Let me sell you on Ojabo while y’all drinking that purple koolaid.
What is it about ojabo that doesn’t really look like an nfl player at all on film? He looked like he absolutely would be an nfl player on his college tape, but he looks skinny, lanky, uncoordinated and awkward on his pro tape. I get he’s had injuries but it’s just weird.

had a 2nd round grade on him that was too high lol - probably didn't ding him enough for the 40 time but the tape was good
i think, like JAD, like Stephens, like Averett etc before him he's gonna have a chance to compete and earn that job but i doubt the front office is just going to pencil him in and not bring in any competition (be that a decent draft pick or a vet)

i do think it's interesting that we had no interest in ronald darby

It's possible I think the team said they had a second round grade on him. They seem to like him but I'm not really concerned if he starts or not. The ravens know how to find and develop corners.

EDC said they could have taken him when they took Isaac in the 3rd round last year but that they'd already taken Nate in the 1st round so they took the EDGE instead (and got tampa later anyway when the value was just too good to pass up)

doesnt that basically describe most of our 4th round CB projects the past 7 or 8 years lol - talented, flash the potential, can't stay on the field to prove it

my only hope with him is that he has the miracle Ravens EDGE contract year bump

what was odd this year was that he flashed in some games when he played, but also then rode the inactives a ton too... just a really odd season

just doesn't look like he's confident coming off the ball at the snap with any sort of consistency

Heading into the draft season, here's kind of where we stand position by position and what I'd do if I was in charge...

QB: good

RB: good, but willing to draft on day 3 if the value is good

WR: throw a late round pick in the mix if the value is good

TE: good, but willing to draft on day 3 if the value is good

OL: need to draft a developmental T and probably a G, would also look to add vets at either or both

DL: draft 2 and sign a veteran

Edge: draft high if the right guy is there

ILB: draft a mid-late rounder, keep an eye out for a vet as we approach camp

CB: draft 1 or 2 and sign a veteran

S: draft wherever the value makes sense

ST: draft or bring in a couple of kickers to battle

This seems like it needs to be a defensive heavy draft outside of the OL. I wouldn't not add to the skill positions on offense, but they're all pretty well set right now.
