Plenty of teams have tried the Rams model it just doesnt always work. The Saints were all in for a couple years and (thanks to getting screwed by the refs) did not make the Super Bowl. The Packers went all in to try and make it the past couple years and it did not work. Teams like the Titans went for it as well but to a smaller degree. The reason the NFC is going to be terrible next year is because of all the teams having to pay for going all in and failing.

Disagree about the Pac, and I think that's been Roger's contention. Because if that was true, they would have gotten him a killer WR, long before now, in ADDITION to Adams.. I also have seen the teams you've mentioned making somewhat bolder moves, but the Rams started swinging for the fences and it worked. They added players all season long.they basically bought a team of all stars. I"ll be curious to see how and where they land in the next several years going forward.

The Pack were 50 million over the cap because they tried to go for it and we have ZDS because they now have to start paying for the past 2 years. Before that they seemed passive but the past 2 years they went for it.

I really think what the Rams did has changed the way all teams will look at putting a team together for the future

idk that they've actually changed as much as some have said they have

yes they've decided to basically never pick in the 1st round
but their recipe for success has been to pay superstars, game the comp pick system and draft well in the middle rounds

they've consistently found starters and depth pieces in the draft over the last few years - as important as Donald, Kupp and the superstars they've acquired are, it's the day 2 and day 3 picks that have made that roster what it is

so all they've really done is hyper-focussed the already tried-and-true methods - draft well, make good decisions on who to pay and who to let go - only difference is how they've used their 1st rounders to acquire proven difference makers

bucs are way more of a mercenary team than the rams - but even so their superbowl win was built off a lot of homegrown draft picks

This is a dramatically oversimplifed view of what would happen. Additionally, Marlon probably starts playing more slot than he usually does.

idk about trading up - but we never get a chance to draft guys with his talent and production... and with lamar at QB it's unlikely we'll get another chance at a guy of his quality for the foreseeable future

cant give up this opportunity to get him as long as the medical checks out

and if the jamarr chase tweet from yesterday is telling us anything, it's that the ravens are definitely doing their due diligence on stingley

also helps that we've had recent experience with a 1st round pick coming off a lisfranc injury as a rookie with hollywood only a few years ago

if he busts he busts - but im ok taking that risk - i might hesitate more if one of the top 4 edge guys is also there but i doubt any of those guys make it out of the top 10 at this point

if you draft a top corner he starts immediately
maybe you're still catching up on modern day football - but base defences these days have 5 DBs on the field and teams run a ton of dime too
you draft a top corner it's a force multiplier too because it allows you to move humphrey all over the field like they like to do too but could do in 2021

would depend on who's still available in R2 - but jones would be high on the list for sure alongside mafe, ebiketie or one of the OL if any of those guys are still around
