I've got 196 players graded and got through enough guys on the list that it's exceedingly unlikely anyone "new" is going to fly into my top 50 out of nowhere at this point.

DL and TE still could possibly have their Top 5 rankings stirred up just because the classes are so thin that e.g. in TE's case not everyone in the top 5 even has a day 2 grade...

But to begin. Worth noting that all QBs have been ranked at the bottom of their tier grade-wise which is why the first QB is ranked at 10 despite the fact that QBs are going 1-3 in the draft. So if there's a QB, it's likely that the first non-QB player ranked afterwards is the start of a new grade tier.

Medicals have no bearing on a prospect's ranking because I have no way to assess those things.

My Top 50:

  1. Kyle Pitts TE
  2. Penei Sewell OT
  3. Rashawn Slater OT
  4. Jaylen Waddle WR

Did you totally discount Gregory Rosseau? He opted out last year but he may be the top edge guy or surely top 5 no? What is your reasoning for his exclusion? I'm curious.

From what I know about the draft, Fields over Lawrence is highly controversial. Why do you have them that way around? Isn't Lawrence supposed to be the second coming or something?

i like lawrence but he's only really run very simple concepts at clemson - a ton of RPOs and 1st read stuff and tons of short throws outside - and i dont think he deals with pressure or simulated pressure well and i think he can lose LBs underneath in coverage too much - he does a lot of things really well but i dont know that i love the mental side of his game right now - but certainly worthy of being picked at the top of the draft

definitely not the 2nd coming - all the talk of him as some sort of generational talent to me was ridiculous

i think fields is awesome - i love how aggressive he is - i like that he was running pro-concepts - i like that he was getting through his progressions and was frequently making plays on 2nd, 3rd and even 4th reads - he had a bad stretch of games towards the end of the year and im not really sure what went wrong but he seemed to fix it by the time the clemson game came around - i love his character - his release is a bit longer than wilson and lawrence but not too long and the arm talent generally is great - he's athletic - great pocket presence - his ability to make accurate deep balls both in phase and off base is awesome - he does hold onto the ball a bit too long (but i like that it's mostly because he's looking for those deep shots rather than because he's confused)

i dont like him at all lol - definitely not excluded... he's currently my EDGE 16 and has a late 3rd/early 4th round grade from me:

he's not particularly explosive, doesn't really threaten tackles outside (nor does he have the athleticism that would suggest he would on any sort of consistent basis), i dont know that he's powerful enough to win inside consistently although he does have some decent lateral quickness

he flashes good use of his length, he flashes some quickness inside but he doesnt consistently win with his first move off the snap and often has to win with a counter (which he's not particularly good at) or by overwhelming with his length - and while that will work vs florida state (the 2019 OL was maybe the worst unit ive ever seen) im not sure how well that translates

to me he's a developmental prospect with a few nice traits but also some athletic limitations

would be happy to be wrong about him but i just dont see the top end talent on film - i think he got a ton of hype based off the sack numbers but most of those sacks were not what i would call edge "wins" - lots of it was inside and lots of it was against poor teams and some of it was clean up type stuff (which has value but not as valuable as other bits)

i think there's at least 3 guys with great length and height who are much more explosive than him - Payton Turner, Dayo Odeyingbo, Jordan Smith and even Janarius Robinson who i think is more powerful and uses his length better

Payton Turner is on tape what everyone who's praising rousseau has said rousseau is... length, bend, explosion, power

nope not at all - im not even sure i like him on day 2 at all tbh - would be ecstatic if another team decided to spend a 1st round pick on him
So I’m assuming you’d be livid if he made it to 27 and we picked him?? I’m not getting emotionally invested in prospects this year. I just want to sit back and watch the draft with no expectations for the first time in my life

id be pretty pissed off yeah - but very quickly would get behind him (just like every other pick) and assume that i missed something

it's not like he's completely devoid of talent or cool traits - but i just don't think he's either incredibly athletic/explosive or super refined which i think you have to at least fit somewhat into one of those categories to be considered in round 1

but i do feel that the last few years ive had a pretty good handle on the types of players we might be into - ive been fairly high on some guys we've ended up picking (judon, tim williams, eluemunor, lamar, averett, hollywood, jaylon ferguson, justice hill, queen, madubuike, harrison, bredeson)

whether they turned out good or bad ive felt like ive had a decent idea of who they might be interested in (where value meets draft capital) - some picks seemed to come out of left-field though - i was sure that calvin ridley was the guy in 2018 and he just wasn't lol, i was much lower than the ravens on chris wormley and jaleel scott and boykin and tyre phillips and i completely whiffed on mark andrews the other way

and with all the draft prep ive done the last 4 years (and especially 2020 and 2021) - it would have to be a pretty crazy difference in value for me to get pissed off irredeemably - rousseau in 1 would probably make me meltdown on the night but i'd get over it - i think it's more positions that would frustrate me - i'd be really disappointed if we spent more high draft capital at LB or RB or (especially in this class) TE

in terms of positions last year's 1st 2 picks were a nightmare for me lol - liked the players, hated the positions they play in terms of draft value - would be really pissed off if we spent high capital on "low value" positions again
