RASHOD BATEMAN, WR, MINNESOTA
After refusing to give the Ravens the one guy I've been circling all draft season, I finally relent. And it makes a ton of sense. His profile is reminiscent of Justin Jefferson somewhat (although their styles are different). Twitchy athlete with inside/outside flexibility. One of the top 3 route-runners in the draft class (and he might be the best), with a diverse release package that helps him get off the line vs press coverage. Plays through contact well generally through the route and at the catch-point. Good at the catch-point with great hands, good after the catch too (and transitions well into being a runner).

Would be a slam dunk of a pick.

  • 28 - Saints: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
  • 29 - Packers: Elijah Moore
  • 30 - Bills: Jaelan Phillips

  • 41 ***RAVENS***
Sam Cosmi, OT, Texas
Athletic, long and strong. He's got nice quick feet, strong grip, decent hand placement (at times) and nice precision with his punches. Doesn't lunge and stays patient through his pass sets. But there is a reason he's available still. His footwork in pass-sets is incredibly hit and miss. At times he shows of nice kick-sets and at others it's an absolute mess. He's patient but has a tendency to let rushers get into him - he does have a good anchor and lots of natural talent that he's been able to live off so far in his young career (and he is really young) but it's meant his technique in pass pro has created some bad habits. He's tall so can lose leverage against more compact rushers but uses his length well. Right now he's a much better run blocker than pass blocker but the ceiling is really high and he'd be coming to an offense that will mitigate some of his weaknesses early. He needs some technical refinement but would be an exciting prospect to have in the building.

  • 50 - Dolphins: Richie Grant
  • 51 - Washington: Creed Humphrey

  • 55 - Steelers: Javonte Williams
  • 56 - Seahawks: Carlos Basham Jr
  • 57 - Rams: Quinn Meinerz

  • 60 - Saints: Amari Rodgers
  • 61 - Bills: D'Wayne Eskridge

  • 74 - Washington: Amon-Ra St Brown
  • 75 - (TRADE) ***RAVENS***
RONNIE PERKINS, EDGE, OKLAHOMA
The Ravens move up from 94 using pick 101 that they acquired from the Lions to move up to 75 and get an EDGE that they covet.
Perkins isn't the spectacular athlete that some of his EDGE peers are but he's certainly got some juice and a ton of power that belies his frame and weight. If he was 10lbs heavier he'd be a classic Ravens EDGE pick. He's got nice burst, nice length and tons of explosive power. He's got powerful hands and he uses them well especially in tandem with his athleticism to stay clean through his rush and win with a variety of moves. He doesn't have many counters but he does hustle through the play even when locked in. He's somewhat Suggs-ian in his play-style. And Oklahoma's defense looked completely different when he wasn't on the field. He boasts close to the type of production that the Ravens love to see in their EDGE prospects. And he had a memorable few snaps against Teven Jenkins before Jenkins had to leave that game through injury and Perkins destroyed the rest of the Oklahoma State OL afterwards. Perkins had probably 2 of the 3 or 4 most unblockable games of any pass rusher in this class.

  • 76 - Giants: Cameron McGrone
  • 77 - Chargers: JaCoby Stevens
  • 78 - Dolphins: Jackson Carman
  • 79 - Raiders: Kellen Mond
  • 80 - Raiders: Andre Cisco
  • 81 - Dolphins: Tre McKitty
  • 82 - Washington: Walker Little
  • 83 - Bears: Stone Forsythe
  • 84 - Cowboys: Pat Freiermuth
  • 85 - Titans: Brenden Jaimes
  • 86 - Jets: Robert Hainsey
  • 87 - Steelers: Kyle Trask
  • 88 - Rams: Elijah Molden
  • 89 - Browns: Quincy Roche
  • 90 - Vikings: Patrick Jones II
  • 91 - Browns: Chazz Surratt
  • 92 - Packers: Baron Browning
  • 93 - Bills: Trey Sermon
  • 94 - Cowboys: Ar'Darius Washington
  • 95 - Bucs: Kenneth Gainwell
  • 96 - Pats: Cornell Powell
  • 97 - Chargers: Jaelon Darden
  • 98 - Saints: Elerson Smith
  • 99 - Cowboys: Marvin Wilson
  • 100 - Titans: Brevin Jordan
  • 101 - Cowboys: Dayo Odeyingbo
  • 102 - Dolphins: Seth Williams
  • 103 - Rams: Hunter Long
  • 104 ***RAVENS***
JAMAR JOHNSON, S, INDIANA
Nice athlete with fluid hips and good size and length. And exceptional reading from all types of alignments. Really comfortable in single-high, split zone, shallow zone and even projects well to the nickel too. He's really quick processing route concepts and adept reading QB’s eyes. Sometimes he seems to break late or hesitate at the break and he probably needs to trust himself more but he's got some decent range although he didn't test amazingly well. Has some nice playmaking and instincts. Can sometimes be slow to react vs play-action and he's very not good in run support and tackling generally despite having a good sized frame. Projects best deeper.
  • 105 - Saints: Milton Williams

ROUND 4:
  • 131 ***RAVENS***
AARON BANKS, OG, NOTRE DAME
Awesome frame and size at the position. Shows a ton of toughness and even some light feet. How you think of him as an athlete depends on what film you watch. On some film he can seem to struggle moving laterally. But then vs FSU he slides out to play LT when Eichenberg goes down and looks amazing. I think he's got impressive foot quickness for his size. He's an absolute people-mover, driving guys off the line of scrimmage and creating movement on double-teams and combos. When he gets hands inside it's over. Has had some struggles in pass pro especially vs twists and stunts that challenged his lateral range but he has a wide base and strong anchor and generally keeps his feet moving to stay in control. Had some success on pulls and getting up to level 2.

  • 136 ***Ravens***
TRE BROWN, CB, OKLAHOMA
Smaller corner with nice athleticism but he's played exclusively outside in college. Feisty, competitive and physical at the line of scrimmage despite his size. Quick feet and great movement skills allow him to mirror effectively off the line - used leverage and the sideline well to his advantage. Probably left too much cushion in off coverage but probably because he trusted his ability to explode and click and close to make plays on the ball. He did take risks that could let him get burned and bit on double-moves probably because he's getting a bit greedy and cheating with his eyes. His lack of size mostly shows up at the catch-point where he can be boxed-out but he has great hands and high-points the ball in the air. Shows lots of desire in the running game but not the most effective getting off-blocks. Really nice blitzer though. He had a great senior bowl where he had multiple picks in the 1v1 drills which is absurd...

ROUND 5:
  • 171 ***RAVENS***
DAELIN HAYES, EDGE, NOTRE DAME
Bendy, with some burst, power and lateral quickness. Not an overly dynamic or notable athlete though. Strong at the point of attack and has pop in his hands when he stacks and sheds with violence. Disciplined when left unblocked. Has some snaps dropping into coverage. Has rushed from all over the line of scrimmage. He's a savvy and reactive pass-rusher who will adjust his rush mid-rush and counter based on what the offensive lineman opens up for him. Strikes with power and has a decent get-off and occasionally flashes some explosion. Limited ceiling athletically and coming off a torn labrum and doesn't have a ton of production but absolutely fits what the Ravens look for in terms of prospect style on day 3 at OLB.

  • 184 ***RAVENS***
IHMIR SMITH-MARSETTE, WR, IOWA
Massively under-utilized in college. With tons of inaccurate or underthrown passes sent his way. He was open over and over and over again on tape and just didn't get the ball thrown his way. He's a pretty raw route-runner but has flashed some nice head-fakes and angled stems to create separation. But mostly he was separating with pure athleticism and burst. There's a limited route-tree, not much production, and he looks a bit thin and maybe lacking some functional strength. He didn't have the pro day he probably hoped for but he's a dynamic athlete. Great hands albeit there were some drops early in his career. Brings multiple sports into his football (water polo, gymnastics). Might be a gadget guy/slot early in his career but adds return value too. Would be a developmental type that you hope could push Duvernay for his returner spot and his manufactured touches and maybe even some slot snaps. I'd say he's a better route-runner vs man right now even on the limited route-tree than Duvernay was coming out.

  • 210 ***RAVENS***
FORREST MERRILL, NT, ARKANSAS STATE
Limited length might limit his ability to get snaps. And I must admit at this point I was just throwing in guys who I thought barely had a chance to be drafted. The Ravens are probably looking for some nose depth beyond just Justin Ellis especially with both he and Brandon only having 1 year left on their deals. I'm not sure Merrill ever projects as someone who'd ever challenge for a starting role but he works with his limitations well. He's smaller and makes the most of his lower centre-of-gravity and natural leverage to get underneath offensive linemen and be an absolute nightmare to move off double-teams.

TL;DR
1:27 RASHOD BATEMAN
2:41 (acquired 101 in trade) SAM COSMI
3:75 (use 94 and 101 in trade up) RONNIE PERKINS
3:104 JAMAR JOHNSON
4:131 AARON BANKS
4:136 TRE BROWN
5:171 DAELIN HAYES
5:184 IHMIR SMITH-MARSETTE
6:210 FORREST MERRILL

I want to like Jamar Johnson so bad but that tackling... sheesh

No issues with any of the other picks though. Would hope Bateman is there and we're actually interested. Love Cosmi as well.

one reason why the ravens might actually be interested in ardarius Washington vs some of the other safeties: he’s one of the very few who actually tackles and attacks downhill in the running game - it’s a safety class of awful tacklers the whole way around
