Carr, teammates have 'fractured relationship'

The Athletic's Marcus Thompson reports Derek Carr has a "fractured relationship" with his teammates.

With Khalil Mack and now Amari Cooper out the door, there have been rumblings the Raiders want to move on from Carr as well, and Thompson reports Carr's play and a perceived lack of toughness -- an absurd notion given how quickly he returned from a transverse fracture in his back -- have cost him the locker room. "The belief in him has deteriorated, perhaps to irreparable levels," Thompson writes. "It’s hard to see how Carr can lead this team again." Carr has four years left on a five-year, $125 million extension, but the Raiders can get out with a relatively minor cap hit after this season.

this is bullshit for 2 reasons:

1) apparently the lack of toughness came from the idea that he cried after getting injured (which he denies vehemently - the fact he has to deny that is crazy in and of itself given there is legitimately nothing wrong with crying - especially when it's due to pain)
2) players cry all the time especially if its injury related - including players seen as major team leaders who are fully able to continue leading their teams post-cry...

this is all just telltale signs of a dysfunctional locker room and unhappy team

Yea also notsold on bringing anymore az defensive backs in here. Remember when tony Jefferson was going to be an all star and we had him so we passed on Derwin James?

Jefferson is quietly having pretty nice season so far.

No question James is a great player and one I would have loved having in Baltimore. That being said, Jefferson was being used out of position for the majority of last season. Basically Pees being Pees.

Giants DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison traded to Lions for a 5th round pick. Fire sale in NY. Go get OBJ Ozzie.

Seems like a justification of Gruden burning it down. Shitting on his character before shipping him out gives a small bit of confirmation from fans, I believe it’s bullshit though, Carr is a class act and was goddamn revered league wide for his character until Gruden came in.

Real shame considering where they were pre Carr injury in 2016

To those who're getting on Carr for crying, where was that same energy when Vernon Davis was crying after he made "The Catch" in the playoff game against the Saints several years ago?

I doubt they trade a good young player.

they would 100% trade him"
- he's unhappy because 2 of his favourite guys just got traded away
- he's not been nearly as effective as he was in his 2nd year
- he's in the final year of his rookie deal so any trade is an immediate bonus for the giants (especially if they don't expect to retain him at the end of the year)
- the giants want as much draft capital as they can get (probably to go after a qb who might not exist in this draft class)

but im not sure anyone should trade for him for many of those same reasons
