The Good, The Weather and The Injuries

What a disappointing loss that was.
That squall at the end of the game was not much fun.
  • Finished this game with 2 healthy corners, one of whom only signed off the street this week
  • After BWill went down we were down our 2 best defensive linemen
  • We finished the game with only 1 offensive tackle
  • Nick Boyle's injury was pretty sickening too
Not sure what the positives to take out of this loss are if there are any. We got absolutely destroyed in the trenches by a lesser team.

Not sure there's any solutions to our issues anywhere except the secondary and hoping that Jimmy and Averett can come back soon...

But for now we're down to 1 OT, 1 TE, 2 CBs and not much to get excited about...

Oof is all I really have to say. D couldn’t stop the run for 3 quarters. OL play was horrid once again. Still having killer penalties. Can’t escape the injury bug.

It is what it is.

We might as consider ourselves down a Center too. How can they continue to trust Skura after two weeks in a row with numerous snap issues? The team dug that hole but had a drive going that he literally killed singlehandedly. He also was the cause of 4th and 1 failure.

I hope Boyle is okay.

that being said, the team isn’t doing Lamar any favors with drops, penalties, and terrible snaps.

I’ve had enough with Greg Roman getting cute with his play calling, I’m not entirely sure what this guy is trying to accomplish out there. It’s clear he’s at his limit with how lackluster this offense has looked all year

the problem now is they cant really replace Skura at C with Mekari moving to RT (unless they give Fluker back that job...)
bozeman's the other option I suppose

Fuck this team. No fucking balls what so ever, no cojones. They play with their bitchass tails between their legs, if the lights are on and the world is watching they piss their pants like little fucking scared puppies.

I’ll be watching draft prospects and posting here and there but I’m gonna try to stay away from ravens talk and honestly I’m not watching the game next week and I’m gonna see how my Sunday goes

Not like we had many other options. Fluker was so bad tonight they had to move a C out to his spot.

For what it’s worth, it was mentioned that Skura had a nasty cut on his snapping hand last week. Not sure if it was that, the rain, or neither tonight. But it has to get cleaned up.

Oh so the rain stopped AFTER the game? Good timing as always for the Patriots.

- Pats gashed us on defense and took advantage of all the injuries. The defense is the reason we lost, if we had any of the injured players healthy and playing this may have been a Tucker game winning FG situation.

- Hollywood can't complain about not getting the ball only to not get separation and do his job against the defender. Yet it's up to Roman as OC to give him more opportunities to catch the ball and be the playmaker we know he can be.

- The injuries will kill us, but I think we'll be alright. Just wish the Titans weren't next on the schedule following all these injuries. Henry is going to gash us again.

Said it in the game thread, but why would you leave your Center in the game when it’s storming who has a cut on his snapping hand and has been hiking errant footballs since the previous game?

Roman’s direct snap to Ingram was the final nail in the coffin for me. I can’t wait until we get rid of his uncreative ass.

Hollywood looked pissed as hell/pouty and that’ll be interesting to monitor.

Why do we have a RB carousel? The hot hand was obviously Gus. Stop feeding Ingram. Jesus Christ.

Lamar surprisingly looked sharp in the rain minus the pick before halftime and the throw to I think Snead that almost got picked by a McCourty.

If you’re a visiting team, you ain’t getting any calls in your favor in that stadium. Fuck those refs.

This team still has no identity. We aren’t pounding teams with the run game. No RB had 10 carries how can we even pretend they tried to establish the run.

There’s zero creativity to get Hollywood Brown the ball. They can basically look at how other teams move their WR1 to the slot, or in motion, bunch formations, to free them up. This kid should not have multiple games with 1 or 2 catches under 40 yards receiving.

Obviously the OL is shit right now, but Ingram just looks like he’s hit his wall. No explosion from him. Looks like a shell of the guy we had last year and it’s getting hard to justify giving him carries right now.

Lamar's lucky to not have 2 picks. First one was just bad decision making. Other from that, he played well enough to keep us in the game. Unfortunate drops by Snead and (unsurprisingly) by Andrews. There's gotta be a center from a practice squad we can pluck because fuck Skura. I feel so bad for Boyle as his season is basically over.

I will not blame our Defense Secretary for this game. This is completely on the players not executing. That being said, this run defense has shown its ass without BMW. I expect Henry to give us a beating and make us like it. I feared the Madden Curse was gonna hit us one way or another.

As for Hollywood, well......look. I feared that at some point, we'd force feed it to him but he couldn't beat the outside CBs. He just wasn't getting separation.

yeah I saw the cut last week. Mekari played well all last year. There’s no reason for them to insist on Skura being the guy. If he’s not up to performing.
He did better than last week when he had about 7 errand snaps. But those two tonight were backbreakers it’s not acceptable.

Totally agree with this! Why in the heck the coaches feel like they have to run Ingram? Gus rarely gets stopped for a loss. Why not pound the line with him then use Dobbins speed when the D is tired out. .
I known Harbs has done a lot of good for this team but I have had it with him. Seems like he never takes charge of the team and make changes when it's needed.

so for everything that happened in that game with the weather and the drops and everything here's 1 thing that's "good":

Lamar completed 70% of his passes and went 24/34 for 249 yds 2 TDs and 1 INT

for context: that's his 2nd highest passing yds total of the season (only behind his 275 yd performance in week 1)

But Mekari had to play RT because Fluker was hot garbage tonight. So the options were moving Bredeson into LG and moving Bozeman to C, or letting the raw Colon-Castillo step in and play his first NFL snaps.

I think you could argue the Bredeson scenario but Bozeman as a pulling G is a huge part of our offense so you’re adding even more change to an already depleted OL. Skura has had 2 tough games but I’m not sure there was a better option tonight with Mekari being forced to play T.

Harbaugh blaming the rain and weather for the bad snaps. So the Patriots Center didn't snap the ball in the rain? Come on Harbs. He is a great coach who would be hired within a minute if we ever fired him but he becomes so hard headed about things. Bad OC? Let's hang on to them until ownership forces me to fire them. Then becomes way too loyal to players and usually it isn't until a injury occurs that Harbaugh is forced to put the better player in.

Lamar did well tonight. His INT was ugly and he almost had another, but that was more of a situation where he had to do what he had to do. He was not the problem tonight.

And there were also 3-4 drops which is dropping that completion percentage.
