The Second Half, The First Half and Yet More Overtime

Another overtime game.
Another messy game.
Another win.

First half was awful but the team adjusted well and the second half was utter domination - so much so that we should have won this one in regulation.

Lamar's start to the game was somewhat reminiscent of how he started those first 2 playoff games but as he's done so many times this year... he came back.

Running game finally got rolling against a depleted Vikings interior DL. Tackles are still a problem but it was great to see the unit lean on a team and drag us back into the game against a team that was able to get pressure on us while consistently dropping 7 into the zones.

A disappointing lack of pressure from the defence. As we've seemingly got way too used to... it felt like Houston was consistently just a half tick away from getting home.

Lamar Jackson is going to give me a heart attack. He makes these unbelievable plays but then misses the simple ones and this back and forth is going to send me to an early grave.

The defense is the same way. They are great at doing everything except shutting down the big play. They can force multiple consecutive 3 and outs and then suddenly give up a 50 yard strike just out of nowhere.

I also noticed they were often putting an extra man on Oweh. It is impressive for a rookie to be drawing double teams consistently, but it is a shame that no one else can capitalize. The few times the defense got pressure it paid dividends through incompletions but otherwise the pressure was just not there.

and he still had nearly 400 total yards and 3 TDs (also 1 awful pick and another pick that wasnt on him)

Hollywood had a quiet day

but then exploded in 4th quarter and overtime again
and despite having a quiet day he ended up with 9 receptions for 116 yards

and unfortunately the 2 next men up are unavailable right now
the next man up (who might have started instead) is currently playing RT because we dont have a tackle right now...

Have to wonder how do The Ravens handle the Tyson Willaims and Leveon Bell situations now. I dont' think Williams had a carry in this game but Bell had some bright spots in this game.

Also has to be said - NFL was all skewiff this week - the value of just grinding these wins out is so massive

on a day when like 6 playoff-aspirant teams lost, we managed to come from behind to win

Josh Bynes for all-pro! The man has found the fountain of youth.

The rest of the team gets an incomplete grade since all of them were shite at some point,and great at another point.

Finally, interesting that we held Thielen to 6 yards - I don't think that happens very often

I know Lamar wants to make the big play every down, but he has to start checking down to the RBs when that’s what’s there. Lots of wasted opportunities.

He probably will get claimed but the writing might be on the wall for him as a Ravens even though The Ravens do need somewhat of speedy running back but I guess Freeman could play that role for them if they feel like he's suitable.
