The Second Half, The First Half and Yet More Overtime

Bateman will be my next jersey.

waldman overdoes it a little here

it's undoubtedly a great catch - but he's only saving lamar from an INT there if he lets the ball get through him... it's a nice play and a great catch and i wish they showed the replay but the ravens went hurry up

not gonna break many but he's starting to get the timing and rhythm of the power run game we're running and letting guys get on blocks and using his angles to set up blocks well

he gives the OL time to get some extra push but the OL do need to actually get on their blocks to make it work

it was big having him be able to take over for Freeman on that 4th quarter drive and just run power down their throats
Yeah it seems like bell is just gonna do what he does with patience and jump cuts, but if he’s gonna do it he’s gotta be much more willing to hit a crease that he may not love, and he’s gotta hit it hard and fast. He seemed to do that today, much more decisive

if we arent blocking it up for him he's not gonna get anything that the OL hasnt earned

but unlike ty'son, we can rely on him to pick up what's been blocked for him

I agree with this. He looked a lot more confident today. Not much speed left in the tank but if you can trust him to speed up his process a bit, he can get downfield for a few yards for us. Looked a lot better today than he had previously.

He also seems to be hugging the line of scrimmage more, before he was taking the handoff and staying deep and looking for gaps all across the front, but when you’re pulling guards that leads to a disaster, he was putting himself in positions to take big losses, today he was on the backs of his blockers and always advancing forward which left him less vulnerable to that, and it also allowed him to hit holes easier because he was already there, it wasn’t closing before he could get to it like it’s been doing.

He just looked much more like a power O runner today than he has at any point this year.

This is really encouraging. This year is so frustrating because we just can't get healthy. Like imagine being able to play Mekari at RT, Tyree at LG, add back Murray, add in Boyle. Maybe just maybe with Freeman also playing better we could have at least an existant running game. Add back Watkins and the offense can be really tough. But just no matter what, we only trend in the wrong injury direction

Take away that 66 yard run by Cook, and he only had 44 yards rushing on 16 carries. Take away that busted coverage on that Jefferson TD and he only had 19 yards on 2 catches. Thielen only had 6 yards on 2 catches. And Kirk didn't have 200 yards passing. Weird shit, ain't it?

Our defense got much better in the 2nd quarrter. Outside of that final drive we were great. If the special teams doesn't lay an egg on both the KR and fake punt we win this game in regulation

So basically just take away all the good things they did because our defense sucks and its a blowout?

My point is that our defense minus a couple of big plays actually played better than I thought after sitting on it. This wasn't the Colts game where our defense was continually shitting the bed up until the 4th and even then.

Also want to give a shoutout to Devonta Freeman. I doubted him from day 1 and said he had nothing left in the tank but he's proven me wrong. Not perfect but he's been the only "big play" threat we've had at RB. Might not have the speed anymore but is still plenty shifty enough for the rotation.
Came here to say the same thing this morning. The 2021 Ravens RBs set a low bar, but caveats aside I think his was the most dynamic game I've seen from any of them this year.

la cuestión con nuestta defensa es eso mismo que decís, en cualquier momento regala una gran jugada de forma tonta, no cierra el partido como debería, cualquier situación de 3 o 4 y larga puede ser convertida fácilmente por el otro equipo.

The question with our defense is the same thing you say, at any moment he gives a great play in a silly way, it does not close the game as it should, any situation of 3 or 4 and long can be easily converted by the other team

Working towards being a true beast by the time we play the stillers.

oh shit

well brandon stephens gonna have to step up the rest of the way - also more snaps for jimmy smith who we saw a surprisingly little amount today

Was disappointed to hear this at first. But I thought both of our Safeties were pretty terrible yesterday. There were several plays I watched where I couldn't figure out what the fuck either of them were doing. I still have no clue what Clark was doing on the Jefferson TD.

Or maybe it happened on a previous play and he just kept playing to that point(?).

Seems like we lose someone every week. smh

Nope it happened at the beginning of that play. You could see him reach for it immediately.
