Signings, Cuts, Trades

Feel like Winfrey in particular feels very Jernigan-like where he’s going to flash and look like a superstar on occasion but is marred by inconsistency mostly

hard to judge because of oklahoma's scheme but definitely has that boom-bust hot-cold kinda feel to him - senior bowl made me feel really good about him - at oklahoma he felt more like a bull in a china shop but at the senior bowl it looked more deliberate and then i looked at what oklahoma asked their guys to do and could easily see that it wasnt all him

feels more likely that now we've brought in pierce that the second guy will be a day 3 rookie or a vet minimum free agent like jelly

im with you though - not completely enthused by either of those 2 in round 2 although i do really like both of them
Why not Davis? It's now more likely corners, OL and edge guys will all go before #14.

id hope the ravens arent petty enough to not sign him - the player's still great, he's still got prior relationships and links to the city and organisation and will still help our team

i think he probably gets more money from a team like the jets or cowboys but if he doesnt id have no problem taking him back (as long as he signs lol)
Yeah I would hope that if hes willing to take the same deal they would sign him. This was a massive steal lol

Same. I sincerely hope this can be salvageable. It won’t be on the same deal, but hopefully they can find numbers comfortable for both parties. Z’s agent is familiar with the Ravens so I doubt any connections have been severed. We really need him

i just dont see the ravens valuing a NT even a freakishly athletic one at 14 especially now that they've specifically targeted the position in free agency

like it wouldnt be crazy if they did but would surprise me - it's rare that you put more than 1 NT on the field at a time

Damn I didn’t even think about this. I’d love for EDC to trade up and try and get one of the premiere rushers or one of the corners depending on the rest of our moves

And that's where we disagree. I don't think Watson is a significant enough upgrade in Cleveland over Baker + tons of draft/player capital in order to make them a contender in that conference.

I think the Chargers, Broncos and Chiefs would all still be better than them, I think the Bills would still be better than them, and I think the Bengals and Ravens would be right on par with them. I'd have a hard time putting them as anything higher than the 4th or 5th best team in the Conference with Watson. Like their roster is good, but it's not THAT good.

I think you're also assuming that SB aspirations is like priority 1 in this case. I don't think that's the case at all. I'm not sure that's even on Watson's radar at 26 years old, because most people at that level a) think they're a SB contender wherever they play and b) know they're likely to have a long career, so its long term vs short term.

If Watson's #1 priority were to win a SB in the next couple years, I'm not sure any of the four teams that were on that list are good fits.

I mean the Browns are the best of the teams listed and honestly if you are going to a team that needs to rebuild why even leave Houston in the first place? Whoever makes the trade for Watson is not going to have high picks for the next few years and the Saints are not going to be able to sign fresh free agents and not going to have draft picks so how are they going to improve? The same can be said of the Falcons and the Falcons have less talent on them than the Saints. So if it is unlikely your team is going to be any good until you are a free agent again why would you choose that organization?

they'd have to have a big disparity in their grades and tiers to trade up for someone who might fall anyway

still got 10 guys i think they'd be ecstatic about making it to 14 and only need 4 of WRs/QBs/LBs/mcduffie/penning/linderbaum to get one of them

i think the ravens's ideal scenario is getting to pick between a top 4 edge (whichever of Thibodeaux, Walker or JJ is more likely to fall) and Stingley at 14
