Hahaha I know I'm just saying if the front office thinks that's what's best for this year then we gotta root for them and it will be exciting to see if those accessions happen. It'll instantly along with the secondary become the talking point of the season. Were the young guys able to step up at Receiver and was the defense able to get back to getting interceptions and locking down passing games?

Lamar taking us to the shed with this contract. Everyone expecting some team friendly deal is in the words of AceVane "high as Willie Nelson on stilts at a Snoop Dogg concert."

I hope that Chuck isn't actually so upset about his contract that he would hold out. There's no evidence that suggests he would. As @rmcjacket23 was saying earlier given that we're thin at corner and also ILB chuck's versatility could be really important for us. He may not be a full time starter at Safety, but he's a real piece in this defense.

If they do want to trade him I do think they could get a 4 or 5, but I do not see the team getting better for trading him.

Yup. Ain’t no way he taking a team-friendly deal. He and his camp wanna prove they didn’t need a agent. Giving a discount won’t help that image.

I'll be honest... I think a 4 is ambitious. I think Clark has a lot of value here but I'm not sure he's well-desired elsewhere.
Different circumstances, but you got guys like Peters and Yannick who we're acquiring in trades for like 3rd and 4th rounders. I don't think the league views Clark as that level of impact player.

I'm not expecting a team friendly deal. I'm just hoping he doesn't go the franchise tag route, because he's going to fuck over his team and himself in those situations. If he's as concerned about winning as he says he is, the franchise tag doesn't help that.

Can we sign both Odell and Jarvis Landry? How cool would it be to give Lamar Odell and Jarvis to team up with our 2 studs? Man, I see us eclipsing 2019 this year if our O-line gels and develops chemistry. I don't see how Lamar can be stopped if he is well protected. Truthfully.

Yeah I think that's right. That reason I was assuming people would give up slightly more capital is because his contract is so friendly

Thanks for this! Who are these receivers he's taking about though? UDFAs? Also EDC says the exact same thing we've been saying all offseason which is you gotta start applying the Steelers model of drafting receivers every year given what the WR Market now is

for sure - and i think it was EDC's intention to do that this year too
you could see from the 2019 draft (and every draft since) that there's been a change in the way the ravens value that position vs historically

and when he's talking about the WRs calling him, i think the inference was pretty clear that it was free agents (udfas wouldnt be calling the GM lol) - i think there's too many people overthinking the scheme and overlooking the fact that there's a starter spot wide open for a vet on the market and that's a rare opportunity for this time of year

also... love his brief little comment on my guy daelin lol

Ok yeah that makes sense! I'm starting to see enough stuff to agree with you it's probably overblown. The only people who are probably going to be dissuaded are your elite elite just beginning second contract guys because they're gonna want too much money and the ball too often. But guys on 1st and 3rd contracts would probably love playing here.

Also I love how EDC was like bro stop forgetting about Daelin. I got called out directly there lol. But also EDC is so complimentary of our players and he was not so nice sounding about Ferguson lol. I think he may be in big trouble

ferguson's entering year 4 and hasnt progressed at all - it was very clear that he was last on EDC's list and also was the only guy he wasnt seemingly happy about

was very notable after talking about how daelin had shown NFL qualities already (talking about a year 2 5th round rookie with only 4 snaps in regular season games in his rookie year... albeit due to injury... and they were 4 pretty nice snaps - as well as a great preseason)

he talked about oweh in a way that was very exciting

but with hollywood gone, i may have to adopt a new "my guy" to go along with madubuike... and maybe that guy is daelin lol given how much im carrying water for him
