The Random Thought Thread

It’s official lol. Doubt we see Ojabo Monday night tho :(

 
It's sad that we all saw before the season that this team has a ton of talent but it was relying extremely heavily on Oweh and Bateman in particular. Both have been pretty disappointing but for different reasons.

Bateman has been injured and generally quiet sans occasional very big plays.

Oweh has been about as disappointing as it gets. Very little impact on the game week in and week out. Stupid penalties. Idk.

Hoping both can come along towards the end of the season like Queen has. If they do, with everyone else and Roquan coming in we could be so good. Our ceiling is so obviously high, let's get it!

i just dont agree about oweh at all

not been the dominating superstar that we hoped he would be - but i think you can easily explain why he hasnt made the impact we hoped as a pass rusher... and notable that he's started creating lots and lots of pressure as soon as his snap count was reduced and he was asked to play less SAM

that's only going to get even better with Bowser, and then Ojabo joining the rotation too

Bateman's been frustrating with the injuries and the drops

both are guys who have become critical parts of their respective units in their 2nd year - and each of their sides of the ball would/have fallen apart without them

maybe im wrong, but i feel like oweh's gonna explode especially if Houston keeps picking up sacks because suddenly the extra attention's gonna shift from Oweh over to Houston which will give Oweh more true 1v1 opportunities - teams can't afford to leave Houston 1v1 right now... if they do, he's gonna keep wracking up sacks, if they don't then Oweh's gonna get opportunities

I believe a healthy Bowser and Houston is the best thing that could happen for Oweh. Totally agree with you there. Fortunately we are going to get to see that soon.

I'm scared about Batemans injury and I hate that whole group right now.

WR for sure scares me
especially now that our options are dramatically reduced

need Andrews back healthy, need Likely to become a bigger factor on passing downs, need Duv to keep going (and for Roman to continue to find ways of getting him the ball) and we need DJax to come in and give us something

and we need the running game to start taking games over (which is going to be really difficult if Gus's hamstring isnt ready to go)

This post points out why I'm losing confidence in our hopes of winning on Monday. We practically have to play a perfect game on offense.

Yep. Once this team has all its pieces healthy it has a shot to really compete. Idk if it can overcome its deficiencies at WR, but we'll see!

Yeah, Oweh's had disappointing production so far, but I could definitely see him start to rack up some sack numbers over the second half of the season as we start to get Bowser and Ojabo back in the mix.
