The 2023 Offseason Thread

I don't like Cooks. Queen for some other receiver, like Gabe Davis, I would prefer.
You’d rather have Gabe Davis instead of Cooks? Why is that?

I don't think Queen to Houston makes much sense on either side. Houston want to keep their picks for the rebuild and they want to keep their most reliable WR for the rookie QB, plus Cooks' salary would be a problem for the Ravens.

I think 'contending' (ish) teams like the Chargers, Giants, Seahawks, Browns etc, who have had problems at ILB for years make more sense for Queen, and I think a draft pick would be a better return for the Ravens than a big salary.
1. Agree Ravens likely want picks for Queen, not a player.
2. I don't see Cooks staying around long enough for a rebuild. Only under contract through 2024, and he's already made plenty of noise he wants out. By the time their rookie QB is playing at a high level and they're ready to compete (if that happens at all), he'll be a UFA.
3. Ravens couldn't afford his current salary, but they'd almost certainly sign him to an extension to lower the cap hit. So it would just depend on structure.

Overall agree with first point though. I think trading Queen is to get more draft capital.

I’d like slightly better draft compensation, but damn I love this. Give me Stroud, cap space, and a solid defense. Don’t @ me about Lamar

Queen really didn't excel until Roquan started playing. I think the Ravens believe Roquan will make anyone around him better and they will take the chance of trading queen for a receiver ,cornerback, draft picks, etc.
that's not true. About a month prior to Roquan Smith got here he started doing very well. He got even better when Roquan Smith got here though

He did get better before Roquan got here but he was absolutely terrible the first quarter of the season. He was getting better from a terrible level.

I'll just @ you about the draft capital it would take to move up for him. No way he's getting past 4. Also, not that high on Stroud.
Agree with this. I don't think you can just sit until 8 for Stroud. I'd expect him and Young to go in the top 5. Need to move up to get him. Wouldn't surprise me if they both go 1,2 either.

I would be absolutely stunned if Young and Stroud did not go 1,2. The Bears are going to trade 1 to someone. If its the Texans then they will also certainly trade 2 for the same reason because those are the two 2 QBs everyone wants.

I am not even sure if you could get into the top 2 easily to be honest even if you started from 7. You would need to really overload the trade value for that.

Because he's younger and is a more team sport
Cooks is also much more talented and more consistent. Can’t blame him for wanting out of that shit franchise

3 would be Levis or Richardson

I think cooks already said he wasnt gonna stay for a rebuild so he is likely gone.. if we were to trade for cooks, we could possibly get HOU to take some of his cap?

It’s a stretch for sure. The mock has Young, Levis, AND Richardson going top 6

I think the Queen conversation is interesting. Him taking everything off of his social media is similar to what Joker and others have done in the past. He most likely wants to be extended and that's how you send a message to the team in this age.

What we could potentially get back for him could be crucial. A 2nd in this years draft, especially early, could come up huge for us. Anything on top of a 2nd would be a FLEECE job
