Next Up: vs. Texans (Divisional Round)

Not gonna lie, if we lose to the texans.. lamar will actually be in the same category as dak and the cowboys and there isnt anyway we could possibly disagree.. for lamar to receive no criticism at all, he has to win the SB cause even if he makes it and lose, people are gonna have something to say.
This is such unfair pressure, especially if Lamar plays great and the rest of the team ends up losing it for them. Remember our first Steelers loss? In Dak's case he fucking threw interceptions that were returned for TDs. He stunk in that game when it mattered. If Lamar plays the same way, I agree with you. Otherwise, it is silly to blame Lamar for the team's woes.

In any case, I don't think Lamar will lose because he'll put the team on his back and win it. I think he gets his SB this year, and next year too.
He doesn't have to win a SB this year or really any year. There's a reason why only a small group of QBs actually win SBs, and there's a lot of great one's that either haven't won one, or really only ever get one.
You just have to be better than like 1-4 or whatever it'll be in the playoffs. You can't keep standing on these dominant regular seasons where you win MVP and then get beaten by a completely inferior team, at home, again.
In my opinion, its Conference Championship game, or bust. There are years where maybe you go 10-7, squeak in, and lose in a divisional round game to a better team. This ain't that year. You are the unquestioned best team in football in 2023, and have been for probably 6-8 weeks. It's not good enough to bow out of the playoffs in the first game.

As for what Lamar does or doesn't do, we'll see. If Lamar somehow plays tremendous and we lose 40-37 in a tight game, sure, I'll blame somebody else. There's just not many versions of reality where that happens though. And no, nobody will care if he plays like he did in '19 and puts up gaudy, useless stats, just like when you look at Dak's stat line from Sunday and you see he has like 450 yards and 3 TDs, and guess what, it was total shit. He was shit. And his defense was shit too. That's how you get trucked at home.

People can play this little "low expectations" game all they want. It's total crap. The expectations for this team are as high as any other team in the league. You've been the best team for two months. You need to be the best team for another month. That's the bar we set. We need to live up to it.

Im not saying he has to win the SB, im saying if he doesnt, he gonna get criticized if he makes it and lose. He is one of those qbs thats gonna get unfair treatment no matter what. We arent losing to texans so im not even worried about that shit

I don't think QBs get criticized for losing SB's as much as you think they do. Maybe if you lose like 3-4 times like Jim Kelly, but not for making it once and losing it.

You get criticized for having losing playoff records when you're a multi-time MVP, and having never really even been close to making a Conference Championship game. That's what you get criticized for.

Oh i agree for sure but everything changes when it involves lamar.. i wouldnt be surprised if it went back “ these type of qbs playstyle never win”.. or “ that playstyle will never cut it”.. it wont something thats said over his whole career but for that whole offseason, i can them, sherman, making up some bs and then others following along

Just saw that the Texans are 4-4 on the road this season and Stroud typically plays pretty ehh. I didn’t realize how much better their defense has gotten though. They’re pretty stout against the run

Come on now Deebo , your better than Sportscenter, Shannon Sharpe, Richard Sherman ..etc talking head critique. Aka nonsense. I actually laughed allowed when I read jacket saying the national media shared this idea, as if they were credible and validating his point. At the end of the day it’s all just noise to fill air time and every single one of those talking heads would take Lamar in heartbeat if they were starting a team.

When you really take a detailed look at Lamar’s playoff performance, as we Ravens fans have, you’d be hard pressed to say they were Lamar’s fault. His win might be his worst game.

Now, why is it that the playoff goal post keeps changing for Lamar vs. say Peyton Manning who is universally acclaimed to be among the greatest QBs in the league? You and I are both old enough to know, that there was no such tainting of his quarterbackiness or the pressure to win or be branded another loser. Out of curiosity, I looked up his stats and found that we are endowed with a much better QB during his first 5 rys...

Not looking great for Marlon to play as of now. Has yet to practice since the calf injury and missing again today.

Yea see from our perspective it will be different because we are Raven fans so we gonna be more detailed.. the rest of the world just sees box scores, Ws and Ls and analyst opinions and that alone would be tough to argue with if we were to lose to HOU. “ 1 -4 in playoffs.. 2x mvp, 2x 1st seed and cant win in the playoffs”… thats all theyre gonna see and all the “ i told you so” guys will come back around

Would be 3 straight weeks of practice missed. Yes, he needs to practice.
Welp, hope Brandon is up to the challenge of limiting Nico. I trust him
