Next Up: vs Commanders

I think I saw a quote from Roquan saying that JD5 hasn't faced a defense like us. I mean, last thing we need to do is give bulletin board material to that offense when this defense has gotten worked on this season.
Didn't they play cinci 2 weeks ago?

I kid I kid.

I'm not 100% sure but hasn't their run game been somewhat effective? See us keeping them in 3rd and longs and their OL isn't great. We have athletes on the edge. We should make things more difficult him up front.

Wash def is nothing crazy. Expect this team to be able to put up 28 at least.

Idk why but I’m expecting a dominant win from us. Their fans are starting to really chirp too. And Jaylen Daniels called Lamar such and such, that’s fucking disrespectful, say his fucking name!

Their fans are awfully cocky. Finally got a good QB and you never hear the end of it.

To me, this game kind of feels like when the Lions came to town last year. They were hot, all the talk around the NFL and most were expecting the Ravens to have their hands full, including me. They not only beat Detroit but hammered them into submission. It may be wishful thinking to expect that kind of dominant performance again but if the D can force Daniels into some mistakes and the Ravens get out to an early, multiple score lead, I think this is a repeat of the Buffalo game.

I was thinking about that a couple days ago. The one problem is we don't have the smothering defense we had last year. The offense is firing on all cylinders, but not the defense.

The defense is weird, it’s still a unit that could show up. It’s also a unit that can totally shit the bed. So far it has been more good than bad but the horses are there to play well

I’m not completely sure but I feel like we’re one or two things clicking away from being great. It’s not as though people are a mile away from making a play (aside from that TD before half) but more like we’re consistently half a step out of position.

If we could play only 3 quarters the D would be fine.

Lots of positives on defense, just have to solve the communication issues in the back.

Just confidence in the reads really. New play caller, guys are gonna be less confident when the ball is snapped, hesitation is a killer in the nfl

This goes with what Hamilton mentioned either yesterday or a couple of days ago. He said that the issues aren't structural, per se, but rather fundamental such as tackling, getting off blocks, and communication. Maybe being at home should help, but who the fuck knows at this point.

Macdonald had some rocky, early games too. Who could forget about the Miami game in Baltimore and the 4th quarter meltdown. There were a lot of irate fans demanding he be fired. Eventually, he settled in and became one of the best DC's in the league. I'm willing to give Orr the same chance and hopefully, Pees will help him get there.

I could be wrong, but commanders have won against some of the worst teams in the nfl.. daniels are keeping them afloat for sure but as a team, i dnt think theyre as good as theyre hyped.. the daniels hype maybe legit but people have them contending for a SB is something thats just not gonna happen..

Looking at more jayden daniels and it really feels like if you can limit the big plays in man coverage on the outside (and off broken plays) and you crowd the middle of the field, you can definitely limit daniels and the commanders offence

vs the browns, daniels had no completions between the numbers over 10 yards - the browns closed the middle of the field and it worked - they just got gashed on the outside on some explosives
Dejavu

Side note: I really wish we could do some division realignment so this felt like a real rivalry. Playing these guys every year would create some heated house holds in the local area A radio host and podcasters have tried to hype it up this week, but its just not. Would take a division realignment or a SB matchup to get this rivalry heated.

When the skins were competitive the shit talking was pretty thick, but they’ve been so bad there’s been nothing for them to chirp about. But you’re right, playing just once every 4 years keeps it from being a real rivalry.
