Yes he should, he’s turning down more money every day he waits, while also hurting the team.

wtf are we even talking about here? Are we so desperate to defend Lamar’s every move that we’re gonna act like he’s just being business savvy here? No he’s not, sure hes within his rights, but is that all we’re talking about here? I thought we were talking about getting your pay raise while also helping build a better team.

We can be annoyed that Humphrey and Roquan are overpaid, and also accept that there’s nothing the team can do about it.

With Lamar’s contract, there is something that can be done, and it’s something that will give Lamar a multi hundred million dollar check as soon as he signs.

It’s well reported(not rumored) that Lamar does these things “at his own pace” which is unprofessional and detrimental to the team.

And my point is I'm not sure there are worse offenders. You're viewing it through the lens of output compared to price. I'm not. I'm viewing it as there's a 0% chance a team is competing for a Lombardi with a QB taking up nearly 25% of the salary cap. They can win MVP and it still won't matter.
The other "worst offenders" are in the 8-10% range. And they're going to be frequently offset by high-end producers, like a Jones or Flowers, who take up less than 2% of the cap. You can absolutely win without getting comp-matching output from those guys. There's teams that will have north of 20% of their cap tied up in dead $, meaning they're getting zero output whatsoever from it.

I'm in the minority, but I only believe "Lamar isn't going anywhere" when he puts pen to paper. Until that time, he's officially year to year.

I said it before, the whole LJ contract situation has been weird and bizarre for years. He’s getting shit advice from someone who seems to think there’s gains to be made by “sticking it to the man”, when in fact what it’s done is hurt his bank account and career earning power, while also hampering the team’s chances at success.

With Roquan there's nothing they can do this year but at least he's still a functional starter even if he's no longer a star, so it could be worse.

With Marlon they can and probably will be able to negotiate it down a bit but the reason it's so high is that the Ravens used his contract to create cap space in the past. ( Which seems like a bad idea with a corner when age catches up with them relatively early. )
 
Speaking of Marlon, why is there so much hate towards him from Ravens fans?

He was a draft success, a 2x All Pro, who's always played hard, changed position to benefit the team and never shies a way from a tackle, which is unusual for a corner. I don't see anything there for a fan to hate.

Aside from his personality annoying some people, is it just that he aged and isn't the player he used to be that makes people so angry?

They've done simple restructures on both those deals in the past. Roquan's cap hit ballooned because they've deferred $11.6M of cap hits from '24 and '25 into '26 and '27. That's why his cap number more than doubled from last year (up $17M). They've restructured his deal twice and it wouldn't surprise me to see them do it a third time this offseason. They haven't used void years on his deal yet.

Marlon's contract has been restructured four times since he signed it in 2020. In fact 2024 was the only year they didn't modify it. He actually has a decent chunk of void year dead $ in '27, so that's why for him it's largely paycut or be cut I would think. That one is surprising, since I would've already expected that to be done with the new year starting in like 33 hours.

As our defense started to get ASS, his voice / podcast started to pick up steam as he would say the most outrageous, clickbait things to get views.

Nobody trying to hear how he wants to travel the country to see which state has the best hotdogs after giving up 35pts the night before.

I think this is being made a thing. Whether he signed or not it wasn't going to change how much the Ravens would pay Lindy nor did it stop them from making a trade to bring in Maxx. It did not stop them from giving a contract to the oldest TE we have either.

Until I find out it actually stopped us from doing something, I just don't care.

Linderbaum is probably wrapped up last offseason for a much lower price if there was more traction on a Lamar deal. They were voiding everything and not committing to long term things while they tried to get their cap in order for all things Lamar.
