2026 OL Thread

Weirdly enough it feels like Fano keeps slipping further down the list of top guys on most lists. I feel like the odds of him being there are surprisingly good.

Can he play Guard? I keep hearing he’ll transition to Center at the next level.

#14 for a Center is too rich.

He's basically a high end starter at every position on the line. Center is likely his weakest spot, but he could start there if we needed. More likely to be starting G with the upside of being able to move around if needed.

Fano could probably start at all 5 spots but with different levels of success.

I thought his short ass arms prevents him from playing tackle.

I didn’t want to do the research so I asked ChatGBT which of course isn’t always accurate but this is the list provided

Full Corrected List (1999–Present)

  1. Wyatt Teller
  2. Quenton Nelson
  3. Trey Smith
  4. Quinn Meinerz
  5. Donovan Jackson
  6. Emmanuel Pregnon
  7. Robert Hunt
  8. Ben Cleveland
  9. Netane Muti
  10. Shawn Lauvao
  11. Jonah Jackson (if pro-day included)

looks like none of the additions make the 88th percentile wingspan cut-off
partly because some of them were never measured for wing

also looks like wyatt teller doesn't even meet the 88th percentile threshold either tbh

Has Donovan jackson been any good?

Also, yeah I been high on pregnon. If we did take ioane at 14, I’d still probably take pregnon at 45.

jackson's basically been what you'd hope for from a rookie OL
took a few lumps early, finished the season having grown into a consistent presence even after wrist surgery

I thought his short ass arms prevents him from playing tackle.

they're not that short
remeasured at pro day

everyone's arms are going to get longer post-combine just like last year (and we'd assume it was pro day boosting of numbers, except that the senior bowl measurements the last 2 years have agreed with the pro day measurements more than the combine measurements)

i'd expect some of the "historic outliers" to just become slightly short rather than historic

Idk shit about OL but i just saw fano and his feet is slow af. It look like he moving underwater lol. Idk how important that is but dam. Im assuming thats why people want him at G?
