2026 Baltimore Orioles

Broke the BoSox streak! Now we need either a SS or 3B at the deadline to get this IF playing better DEF and get an additional bat in the lineup.
Should have won the first game as well.
They aren’t going to bench Gunnar, not this year anyway. With JJ and Encarnacion in the mix I think it creates plenty of options at 3rd, and both of those boys can hit. I’d rather see a quality reliever added. Can’t depend on Helsley returning 100% and with Akin gone we need some help there.

Man, could you imagine having this staff now?

They won't bench Gunnar but they should trade him. I hate to say it. We need to re-sign Adley and trade Gunnar. He can't seem to figure it out. He's got the yipes at SS throwing and he strikes out at a stupid rate. I hope he's successful somewhere else on the West Coast. He'll never re-sign here anyway. Adley might...

We stink. Why didn't Kitteridge check his field-card? He should of known their best hitter was at the plate and loves meatballs!
That was a tough loss, a bunch of things could have changed the outcome. Leaving the bases loaded bottom of the ninth, Holliday's moonball to the outfield, etc.. frustrating....

I don't think there's any way that we can legitimately think this team is either making or winning a Playoff game. That make me sad, but it seems to be reality. They are not a good team. They field poorly; they don't understand batting and working a pitcher - they first pitch swing too often when a pitcher is struggling! And the pitching, when they need a strike, groove a meatball anywhere across the center of the plate daring MLB hitters to hit it. They do! We've lost at least ten games where we blow it with a DEF boot or a multi-run HR. It happens, I get it. These things happen often enough and predictably enough that we demonstrate we are not a good team. Was hoping for a lot more. And if it had swung the other way and we won those ten games I can remember losing, we'd be 1/2 game outta first and in command of the first WC. Just sad.

Lots of positives to latch onto including starting pitching which is usually the toughest nut to crack. Many of the issues are fixable, and I think a lot of problems stem from the massive injury load they’ve suffered. I mean, with a a real closer they win last night. Just terrible luck with the bullpen.

@Tank - You're not wrong. I'm just less forgiving after seeing this rerun all season - when they were also suffering injuries then too... Sigh.

I'm telling you, tho, they must score 6 or more to win regularly. Baseball hasn't changed that much; they have a run threshold that they need to reach and exceed to win. And after Roger's start - you're right about SP'ing, btw - a good team would have closed it out, winning only like their 10th game scoring 3 runs. That's not a good stat.
