This is the kind of move I expected at WR. Improve the depth that is on the border of the roster. WRs 7-11 are all very unlikely to make it and this just bumps them back a bit.

I like the edge room but they still keeping an eye on Clowney?

Clowney would be such a sick addition to this front. Unless Zion is that particular kinda guy, which I don’t think he is, then we don’t have that flex rusher that you can line up anywhere and dial up stunts. Clowney seriously repositions the OL when you send him to do it, I think he pairs really well with our 2 main edge rushers who both like to bend the arc, would be nice to have a guy who can consistently make the qb pause on stepping up in the pocket

i think clowney is not urgent or necessary at all unless Zion Young looks nothing like we were expecting but i'd happily carry 5 EDGEs who are all going to play and contribute and bin off Isaac

as you say though, would be fine to go back to some racecar packages on 3rd downs and bring in some explosion to the interior rush by reducing Clowney (or Robinson or Young) inside

Much like the Chris Moore signing, I’d expect any immediate addition at edge to be another borderline type of roster guy. Sounds like they have lines out to more established players but there’s no immediacy to any of that. They want to improve their depth options though.

any extra pass rusher just gonna slow the development of our current guys! Clowny hasnt done anything since he left us anyway. I wouldnt mind dhop back though

They are but I don’t think they’re pressed. They want Green and Young playing a lot

Maybe it was a Harbaugh thing but it finally feels good to see what we got in these young players. We draft them but there would be vets we signed ahead of them and they get limited to no playing time. Letting these young players play and develop might end up becoming a very underrated move by the new coaching staff come playoff time.

Another signing that is borderline but improves depth

i liked him in day 3 the year he came into the league

happy to have him with no expectations but with starting experience as a utility backup/swing guy

if he's healthy, he factors into the bottom of the 53 conversation because of his versatility

Has also spent time on practice squads before so could be off roster depth
