Around the NFL: News and Rumors

I think I’m gonna be backing the saints from here on out - most fun team to watch and Alvin kamara might be the most entertaining team in the league

Or the rams... Todd gurley and Sean mcvay are a fun combo too

Vikes are right there too. The SB champ definitely should come from the NFC.

Oh I think the Vikings are probably the best team in the nfc I just meant that I’ll be supporting the saints/rams from here on out because they’re the most fun to watch

Gotcha. I really enjoy watching Diggs, Thielan and Rudolph. Maybe envious, I think. lol

HOLY SHIT: bombshell dropped by rapsheet

Packers GM Ted Thompson is expected to transition into a new role within the organization. The team will begin a search for a new GM. Bombshell.

@Icebowl how do you feel about this ?

Hey maybe that means they will get a GM that will put a defense around Aaron Rodgers and stop wasting Rodgers' prime.

Regarding Gruden going to the raiders...he is landing in a soft spot. There is some talent there and Carr's injury carried into this year, crashed his QBR and the raiders regressed. Gruden gets to come back to his site of original success. Now my prediction....

Never in the history of the NFL has such a mediogre coach been more popularly acclaimed as a franchise savior...(perhaps outside of harball)...and be so fated to utter disaster.

This is gonna be fun to watch.

as bad as the nfl qb level of play has been this year i think the nfl is now approaching a healthy place in terms of young qb play:

Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Jimmy G, Derek Carr, Deshaun Watson

and then you've got the guys who are up or down still like Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Dak Prescott

pat mahomes looked great in his first start, mitch trubisky has had some nice moments that suggest he could have a carr like 2nd year improvement and jacoby brissett has shown he deserves to start somewhere and teddy bridgewater will get a chance to show improvement somewhere

and then this upcoming qb class will add an influx of really nice qb talent: rosen, darnold, allen, mayfield

add that group to established starters/non-old qb pieces in the league: stafford, luck (if his shoulder isnt ruined), cousins, case keenum (cant believe hes on the list lol), russell wilson, matt ryan and joe flacco (32 aint that old lol in qb terms), cam newton, tyrod taylor, alex smith and you could make arguments for dalton and bortles...

we could potentially have up to around 28 solid starter level qbs in the league next year who are all under the age of 33

add to that the usuals (brady, brees, rivers, big ben, rodgers) and finally the league seems to be plugging its qb depth problem...
it's exciting for me that i might not have to watch much more putrid qb play in the nfl (injuries allowing of course)

Rumors have it the Giants are seriously looking at Matt Patricia. Ernie Accorsi is helping with the search and has been leaning on Belichick for advice. Supposedly Belichick still has a relationship with Giants brass, which isn’t surprising. They feel McDaniels would clash with Gettleman and Patricia would be a better fit from a football philosophy of trenches, running the football and dominant defense.

Looks as though the Pats could lose both offense and defensive coordinators this offseason.

im surprised the coordinators werent picked off before this year anyway tbh

Yep, the Pats have been seriously lucky to this point. Some of it has to do with teams not wanting to wait ams be stuck behind the eight ball when putting together the coordinators and assistants when a team such as the Pats has to finish the SB before getting hired
