2018 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

I think we had 4 or 5 teams that disappeared from the jump. I'm all for skipping them if it moves my picks up lol.

I know the idea is to have 32 different people play but to prevent this maybe allow GMs who would be willing to handle 2 teams, to run 2 teams. That way we know we won't have to worry about this again. I know I would have definitely been willing to take on a second team if needed this year.

We definitely were going to do that this year if we hadn't had 32 people sign up. Due to the amount of players we lost from br, I was surprised we were able to get the sign ups and this will only help next year with all the new players that we have added for this year. Yes, in retrospect I wish we had asked people to fill in for some vacant teams earlier in the process. At this point though, I'd be fine with having them skip unless someone wants to be designated for a certain team.

As you know, we normally have a backup plan and waiting list for inactive teams, but didn't have that this year. I did ask a few members to play but some couldn't do it this year, but would be back next year.

Now that the bid-off rights period has passed, I'm really happy to pickup Denico Autry (even though he was my 4th choice lol). I figured I'd burn my leftover cap on a guy that can apply some pressure from the interior. I'm listing him as a DT because he's pretty much only going to be a sub package player for me. I think in general, despite it not being official on my depth chart, this Ravens team would see a lot more 4-3 looks.

Plus, he's really good at blocking kicks and batting passes and since the deeper pockets didn't let me get Urban back...

i think ive done something similar with my defence - its loosely a 3-4 but its got the depth and diversity of skillsets on the roster that it could be equally effective as a 4-3

also sorry about urban but i got greedy

Well what a coincidence. The draft starts at 11am and my work is closing at 11am (even though I'm working at home anyways) because of the snow. Now I can hawk over the selections and criticize all of them.

I feel kinda bad because I am slow at deciding on anything because I do not know anything especially with trades I am afraid of low balling people off and being rude.

Is the draft big board a joke? Why did the link send me to some Japanese website LMAO
lol I just had that pointed out to me via PM. I wish it was intentional. I'm getting trolled by Google so hard right now. I copied and pasted straight from the address bar.

I don't know that I'm making the right moves with respect to the WR and TE situations. I've either acquired or held on to a multitude of young players who've flashed at some point but either disappointed or haven't reached their expectations. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, DeVante Parker, Willie Snead, obviously Breshad Perriman. Really hoping that at least one of the four comes out to be a pleasant surprise. Hopefully Parker could be closer to being a solid No.2 given the change of the supporting cast. I like his skill-set. Just a little thinking out loud here along with some objective self-assessing.

If Parker can stay healthy he will be a very good receiver. I only traded him because I’m addicted to accumulating draft picks.

I'd like to think so too. I liked him very much pre-draft. It is a notable if given that he's seemingly battled injuries throughout his career, but at least he won't be required to be a focal point with the running game there and Michael Thomas being the No.1. Can fully sympathize with the latter. I think I'm at around 13 now and that's less than I had last season.
