What position will the Ravens select with their first pick in the draft?

Heading into tomorrow, we could still use...

OL
DL x2
ILB
CB
K

I'd also consider RB, WR, and TE if the right guy was there

My board is pretty flat right now. I'm sure I'll have some favorites as the picks get closer but this feels like a trust the scouts day. Let them get some favorites.

EDC answered the questions about Green pretty well. He spent an hour and a half with him in his office. I’m comfortable

We need more vets than ordinary it seems this year. I feel EDC needs to be aggressive getting those pieces once the draft is over.
I don’t see the need for them to go crazy. They’re probably adding an OL and a DL before camp. At ILB, I’d guess they’ll let the young guys fight it out and address that in camp if no one is taking the job.

I don’t see the need for anything else right now.

i really think jordan phillips would be a great fit for us - he and joshua farmer are the 2 clear standout DTs left on the board for me

OL there's a few guys still on the board that i have some interest in soon and there's a lot of guys i have interest in later in day 3 as developmental types

the ravens have done a lot of work on the LBs in this class, and the range for the guys they've been looking at starts in the next round, i would not be surprised to see them grab a guy like Smael Mondon Jr, Chris Paul, Jack Kiser, Jeffrey Bassa, Barrett Carter, Danny Stutsman, Koe King

K seems like a given that we'll add at least one and maybe multiple - no guarantee it's draft picks though

day 3 is always scouts day

some of these guys might be udfas but some late round guys i think the scouts might be interested in...
Kyonte Hamilton, DT
Carson Vinson, OT
Korie Black, CB
Marque Collins, CB
Caleb Etienne, OT
Esa Pole, OT
Carter Runyon, TE
Traeshon Holden, WR
Ryan Fitzgerald, K
Andres Borregales, K

side note: i missed that we'd had a meeting with Emery Jones

nugget for tomorrow

ravens board got wiped out (im assuming emery jones was one of the last guys there)
basically everyone left is the next tier down but he said there's a lot of those guys this year so we should be able to get draftable players even through the 6th round

Synopsis of the texts I got post day 2…

Green was the hope all along. Didn’t think he’d make it but they did the work and were prepared for the possibility. Also loved Landon Jackson so probably would have been the backup option.

Emery Jones was a “here’s what’s left” type of pick. A good portion of the guys that went in the 20 or so picks before them all had similar grades. Would have taken a pretty large trade up to get someone they had rated higher than that group.

They feel really strong about adding quality DL and ILB tomorrow.

my BPA for tomorrow:

Bradyn Swinson, EDGE
Joshua Farmer, DT
Marcus Mbow, OL
Jordan Phillips, DT
Quincy Riley, CB
Jalen Royals, WR
Tory Horton, WR
Mitchell Evans, TE
DJ Giddens, RB
Barryn Sorrell, EDGE
Bhayshul Tuten, RB
Dylan Sampson, RB
Chris Paul, LB
Seth McLaughlin, IOL
Miles Frazier, IOL
Shedeur Sanders, QB
Billy Bowman Jr, S
Jalen Rivers, IOL
Cameron Williams, OT
Kitan Crawford, DB
Jack Kiser, LB
Riley Leonard, QB
Aeneas Peebles, DT

Also seeing some reputable people talking Shedeur and it sounds like the interviews and visits were as rough as rumored and that’s why he’s still out there. Came in like he controlled his own destiny and teams are giving him a reality check now.

EDC said the board was wiped out so makes sense that emery was one of the last guys left in the bucket above what they're gonna be working with tomorrow

Very much sounded like it played out like they expected. No big fallers (they were intrigued by Revel if he had made it 5-10 more picks or so) and not enough difference in grades to move up and get someone that was virtually the same according to the board.
