They announced him as a tackle. I'm not a fan of him as a tackle - doesn't have great consistent range on the edge. Projects better inside.

Independent hands and really good length. Good play strength.
Can be unbalanced and play too upright and overextend/lunge. Spends too much time on the ground.
Has some good power to finish in the run game. Looks to punish in pass pro when uncovered.

Not who I thought we'd go after this high. But certainly a toolsy traitsy player with a chance to compete at guard.

Why LG and not RG? You think that's obviously Faaleles?

Jones did just turn 21 last month. He's experienced but still has plenty of room for growth. This feels like a future pick more so than a day 1 impact player type of pick. I'd move him to G and let him grow immediately but would understand if they want to continue getting him work at T.

i imagine tomorrow we're gonna go after one of the traitsy long developmental tackles that we interviewed a bunch of in the pre-draft process

Need to freshen up on the tape, haven’t watched him in a month or two, but from memory I would’ve drafted Grant as a G over him.

Really good looking reps. When he sinks his hips and anchors down he doesn’t seem to budge to any kind of bull rush. Some of those were awful reps by the edge he was blocking but still.

Looks like he’s got great size for either G or T, powerful violent hands, got some leg drive, I’m intrigued

for a player who's so young, he's played a lot of football against a lot of high quality opposition

this is as a true freshman against jalen carter:

I think they see him as OT. Just sounded that way to me. They'll look at him at OG but I pretty firmly believe they're looking at him as the swing tackle in 2025.

Damn dude I’m impressed with what I’m seeing so far

Definitely think he’s gonna be a G from what I’ve seen so far. He’s got G traits

they said they'd take a look at him at guard but that they also want to develop him as a swing

my guess is they get him to rookie minicamp and then see what they have

i dont think he's got the feet and range to stay outside at tackle - think you'd be looking at a bunch of short corners

it'll be really interesting to see if when we get to OTAs and minicamps whether he's staying on the right side or whether he's repping left-handed - would be a big indicator to see if they think he can compete for the LG job

it's possible he could compete with faalele for RG but no hint right now that faalele isn't just the entrenched starter there

we'll see, not entirely convinced he's gonna be able to beat out either Vorhees or Faalele for a starting job so maybe that's why they talked about developing him as a swing this year

They better not flip-flop him like they did Tyre Philips. Figure it out early and let him develop there

watching this just reminded me how insanely good will anderson was - look at the way he was consistently using his hands to control the wrists and hands of jones on so many of those rushes
