2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Makai Lemon feels like a raven at 14. Of the guys I think would be a “we gotta take him if he’s there” lemon is the one I think has the best odds of being there, WRs come a dime a dozen these days and he’s not the prototype size and skillset teams lock in on in the top 13 picks, he’s got enough talent to look like far and away the BPA at 14, he’s got enough reasons to think he’ll fall to that, and it’s a good fit for what the ravens do on offense, he’s got the hard nosed style the ravens need to get back to, and wr is lowkey a big need for us.

It wouldn’t be the most obvious need, you’d hope an edge or OL is the pick but it’s hard to see one being that kind of value at 14. It might be a pick that pays off huge right away and in the long term.

I like the idea of using the passing game as an extension of the run game, quick and high percentage catch and run plays with zay and lemon, getting the blockers in space, and a wide run game that keeps the field stretched laterally constantly while always having the vertical threat.

agreed

in terms of grades and tiers of grades
the trench needs we have just aren't really available in that top grade of talents this year (the types of talents we don't normally have access to picking in the 20s and 30s) outside of reuben bain

right now 6 of my top 8 players are either WR or DB and 9 of my top 17

Yes, all that, but aside from typical draft talking points, when you think of what kind of classic player the ravens want, he’s that guy. You think of Steve smith. That boy is a fucking dawg

I agree with both you guys. It feels like we could legit have Lemon as BPA at 14. I feel like he’s someone where if we didn’t have Zay I’d be all over it from the jump. That said, I’ve warmed up to it and would love him here

With our TE room crumbling over 2 years, and Bateman being so unpredictable, I’d feel so much better about our offense with zay and lemon as the 2 primaries. The days of force feeding andrews and spamming screens to zay would be over.

im definitely in on WR in general in this class - the offence really struggled for the lack of a 2nd guy in the passing game who can consistently win early in the down

any of the top 3-4 WRs would be difference-makers here

Seems that Ramey is trying to #SIIE Peter Woods lol.

maybe he turns into an elite 3t - but i dont see enough pass rush on tape with consistency to be a certain gamewrecker and he's not got the power profile or dominance in the run game to make up for it to be a top 15 type prospect for me

i think he's only being thought of so highly by some because there's no obviously elite DT prospect in this draft (especially non-NTs)

Despite his horrible measurements I have decided to give Taurean York a chance and he blew me away. It's no hyperbole to say this is some of the best LB tape I've studied over the last few years. Instincts and speed are at an elite level. This is Georgia Roquan type of stuff to me.

For me Bain clears as a prospect… easily

And the more I watch, the more I don’t think baileys even the 2nd best EDGE in the class
Really? Who you believe is the 2nd?.. man bailey looks like he has power, speed, finesse everything. Then again, i thought ojabo was nice too lol

Bailey is a bit stiff and not super powerful or agile bending the edge - he still can run the arc really well and win high-side rushes because his first step explosion is elite but combine that question with some inconsistent run defence and he’s not the same calibre of prospect (to me) that Bain is

And my edge 2 is akheem mesidor - and I think he’s probably closer to edge 1 than he is to edge 3

Whose better out of the guard from penn state or the tackle from miami?
I lean Ioane but I don't think they're too far apart. Think Mauigoa has much better natural gifts and could slot in at G easily, but the technique is kind of shoddy at times and he pays the price for that. Ioane doesn't move as well but he's so damn strong and powerful.

Now that we've got an actual OL coach in Ledford, I wonder how much they're willing to consider technical deficiencies and what a guy could be, which could be a benefit for a guy like Mauigoa.

for me it's mauigoa

ioane is solid and robust and sturdy but i think guys can get on his edges a little bit

I've got a clear top 2 OL:
Fano and Mauigoa

and then a group of 6 guys in the next tier atm:
OT: Monroe Freeling, Blake Miller
OG: Emmanuel Pregnon, Billy Schrauth, Olaivavega Ioane, Chase Bisontis

gradewise i'd be happy with fano or mauigoa at 14, i'd be a little underwhelmed with any of the next 6 guys at 14
would be ecstatic with any of that group of 8 if they were miraculously available at 45

where do you think mauigoa falls short technically?
i see some average range at OT but i'm projecting him to OG for the ravens (if he were available)

I may just be jaded by watching Faalele and Vorhees all season, but I see far too many instances of leaning. And then you see other times where his pads are just too high to win.

Don't get me wrong. I like the guy a lot and think he's one of the better players in this class still. Just think there's some stuff that needs to get cleaned up for him to be the success he can be.

i think the biggest issue with vorhees was wide hands rather than the leaning

mauigoa does lean a bit when drive blocking but he doesnt lunge in the same way as a pass rusher
i dont see any real similarities tbh lol
