2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Interesting comp. If Mccoy is in that space than do it! We have a great DB staff, but also a very particular medical staff. Being in Houston, I saw it took a lot of discipline and time for stingley to get to his peak. Definitely a gamble on the player and staff but would be an interesting selection for mccoy.

not really - stingley had a poor rookie season
but became one of the best CBs in the league by year 2 and then 1st team all-pro in 2024 and 2025

Man that lsu stingley year is something i will never ever forget. I dnt really even watch college football but i was tuned in…

there are some guys that you know are gonna be awesome NFL prospects when they turn up as freshmen (or at least sophomores)
and you watch draft film and go who's that guy, they're awesome, and then find out they're not even eligible yet
Derek Stingley, Brock Bowers, JSN - all were the kinds of guys who popped on other guys film
Devonta Smith and Chris Olave would also be included but those guys were actually eligible and decided to go back to college for an extra year

there's a couple of guys who seem like that in next year's class:
Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas
Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina
Jamari Johnson, TE, Oregon

Yea leonard moore is insane so far. Other than him and jerimah smith, i dnt know the others at all. Saw simmons name alot but never watched anything yet.. i saw that next years class could have around 5+ qbs to go in the first round.

tbf they said the same thing about this year's qb class
arch manning was not as advertised and rightfully went back to school (and may not come out in 2027 either)
dante moore went back to school
lanorris sellers went back to school

those guys will be in next year's class but there's also reasons they went back to school
as will some other guys who took the transfer portal money over entering the NFL (e.g. brendan sorsby) - again though, there's a reason they took the money to stay in college

right now people are projecting julian sayin in next year's class but i wouldn't be shocked if he stayed in college - he's not the physical prototype of a modern NFL QB

if i were to narrow down who i think we'll be picking at this point, my guess is that it's probably one of these guys:
Jordyn Tyson
Jermod McCoy
Olaivavega Ioane

i'm still gonna #SIIE Rueben Bain Jr though...

but also i'll kind of love it if the curve ball that gets thrown out is KC Concepcion (there's zero buzz he's going this high)

i reckon we'll be double-dipping at TE again this class
there are so many on day 3

i almost envision this season at TE being a bit like 2022...
Andrews in place already as your TE1
Oliver in place already as your veteran TE3 with mostly in-line run game responsibilities - in this case replace Oliver with Durham Smythe
Draft two rookies to develop with different skillsets and profiles (kolar and likely) and hopefully one can contribute early as your move TE2 and eventually they become your TE2 and TE3 for the next 3-4 years (or even better if they develop)

there's a ton of options to become a future TE3
and there's a bunch of options to be TE2

im a big fan of eli raridon and dae'quan wright as options for us

Jordyn Tyson is not worth the 14th pick and I’ll die on this hill

How do we feel about germie Bernard?

I like a wide bodied sure handed guy who’s extremely physical and moves well, but I don’t think he can separate against man coverage at the next level, I just don’t know if he moves well enough for it.

Oscar Delp agenda (the fact that we all like different TEs is a VERY good sign)

i like him too tbf - in the process of regrading him and the whole mess of TEs on late day 2/day 3 just because there's so many that it's tough to get the stack in the right order

i know he's dane brugler's TE 4 though

Michael trigg
Jake boerkircher
John Michael gyllenborg

i can't quit trigg but he might be undraftable because of on/off-field issues
nate boerkircher's probably in that early day 3 stack of guys i like - might be a top 10 TE in the class

i havent watched john michael gyllenborg yet but he's on my watchlist with Matt Hibner at TE
