2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

How do we feel about germie Bernard?

I like a wide bodied sure handed guy who’s extremely physical and moves well, but I don’t think he can separate against man coverage at the next level, I just don’t know if he moves well enough for it.

clearly projects fairly well as a reliable 2nd/3rd option at WR in a WR corps
where you value that is kind of up to you
at the moment i've got him as a late 2nd round, early 3rd round grade as WR10 in the class

i can't quit trigg but he might be undraftable because of on/off-field issues
nate boerkircher's probably in that early day 3 stack of guys i like - might be a top 10 TE in the class

i havent watched john michael gyllenborg yet but he's on my watchlist with Matt Hibner at TE
Didn’t know trigg had off field shit. That sucks, as a pure receiver he’s my favorite in the class by miles. Super savvy and in tune with his qb, great timing and positioning, and an awesome natural catcher of the ball.

I also see exactly that with boerkircher in a wider/more physical frame, but with what seems like a bit less of that long lanky highpoint game that trigg has.

if i were to narrow down who i think we'll be picking at this point, my guess is that it's probably one of these guys:
Jordyn Tyson
Jermod McCoy
Olaivavega Ioane

i'm still gonna #SIIE Rueben Bain Jr though...

but also i'll kind of love it if the curve ball that gets thrown out is KC Concepcion (there's zero buzz he's going this high)

I'll take any of those 4 over Kenyon Sadiq.

Don't do it EDC.

With Doyle's offense, I think the tight end profile that best fits is theirs ( Roush, Royer): tight ends who play on the line, can block, and are reasonably good on short or intermediate routes.
I'm not looking for a slot TE, but one who can do it all, more in the mold of Andrews or Kolar

i think you put together trigg's best plays and he looks like easily the best TE in the class

the problem is there's so many low effort plays, poor body language consistently, he jumped only 27.5" at his pro day and looked like he wasnt even trying, takes plays off

and then on top of that he basically got kicked off the Ole Miss team and was suspended for a game by baylor as well

there's just so much there that i can see teams not wanting to touch him at all and if they do i reckon it's not until mid-to-late day 3 and you'll need a plan to build a support system around him to ensure he doesn't slip

notably though i've not seen him have any 30 visits with teams which would suggest that either teams have been going to him or no one's interested in drafting him

i'd genuinely have a joey meltdown if we drafted sadiq at 14

people are enamoured with the speed - but winning as a receiver is far more about deceleration than it is about speed - speed allows you to create space, deceleration allows you to separate at the breakpoint

If mccoy is healthy.. how do we choose between him and vega? Do we just go mccoy and hope one of those other guards fall to us in 2nd?

He also hasn’t played a snap since 2024 so there’s that

obviously that's the risk
that's why he's potentially available at 14 (may well be gone before we pick)

but less risky given the fact that he just worked out at tennessee's pro day and put up great testing numbers

won't have played football since january 2025 but also will be close to 18 months removed from his injury by the time we get to training camps

testing numbers have jack shit to do with getting on an nfl field and holding up come September.

I don’t see situations like this work out favorably often enough to have any desire to make that pick at 14th overall. And certainly not for ANOTHER db

but they do show that he's healthy and able to have a full offseason that should be without any limitations physically

and just last year Josh Simmons missed the 2nd half of his rookie season - and then started the whole season at LT as a rookie
