2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Per my guy, they feel pretty confident that they know what players will be available to them at 14. No, I do not know who that may be yet. But they feel pretty good that they know which players are going ahead of them and what other teams are planning to do. This draft feels a lot more uncertain than most from an outside perspective, so glad they feel good about it.

idk more and more it's seemed to coalesce at the top
no guarantee which players end up in which spots - but seems pretty clear 9 players are definitely going top 13 in some order

Mendoza
Love
Tate
Mauigoa
Reese
Bailey
Styles
Delane
Downs

not 100% but highly likely Fano and Bain also go top 13

which leaves you with 2 wildcards but also means you're going to a shot at at least a couple of the below options at 14 (and obviously in-house they know their sequence which makes it easier to figure out too):
Ioane
Tyson
Concepcion
Lemon
McCoy (if that knee checks out - which now the concerns are that it hasnt)

If you do know and list them out, could you put a spoiler tag? I enjoy the mystery leading up to each draft pick and that's why I stay away from social media until our pick is revealed.

Good news is that I won't be doing much posting draft day since I have something else going on up until the draft starts. Didn't find out Starks was their target until the night before last year so I think we'll be safe this year.

What would you say if EDC did something like

Spencer Fano
Chris Bell
Oscar Delp

I'm just looking at this draft and I'm thoroughly unenthused. I feel like it is very likely we get something of this caliber even if every one of those is wrong

I'd be thrilled with Fano in the first, and Bell and Delp would have an immediate impact. They're not my first choices, but they are good.

I feel like Jordyn Tyson is gonna be the pick. I think Ioane and Fano go before we pick, I’m buying the doubts on McCoys knee, I’m not buying that Reuben Bain falls.

I’m not big on Jordyn Tyson, but I think at 14 Eric is looking for an “impact” player and a guy who’s more exciting than anyone we’d find later in the first where we usually pick. I don’t like his injury history and I don’t think he’s good enough on film to overlook that, but apparently the consensus feels different.

Wouldn’t be entirely shocked if it ends up being Caleb downs or Sonny styles, could see one of them falling due to positional value, there’s gonna be a lot of guys going before us that wouldn’t typically go that high due to positional value and you gotta think one or two teams go against that grain this year and stick to positional value, and I don’t think fano or Vega are the ones that fall because OL play is so bad. You got a RB, a G, a short armed tackle, a safety, an off-ball LB, a hybrid LB, and 2 slot receivers, and I wouldn’t be shocked if the only one that slips to 14 is the off ball LB or the safety.

Tradeback if all 3 Samoans are taken.

KC > Tyson

Tyson has been someone I have had some interest in since the beginning but I just recently had a thought… is Tyson a slightly bigger version of Bateman? I loved Bateman coming out too.

I don’t think they’re all that comparable. Tyson is far better in contested catch situations than Bateman ever was.

From what I’ve seen, he reminds me a bit of aj brown, he’s not as big and is quicker than brown but I think the long, physical, still good at YAC because they’re not big lumbering runners, means they offer similar skill sets.

Dare i say jamarr chase lite, like nowhere near the pure talent level but Tyson offers a milder version of the chase skillset. And when I say nowhere near the same caliber I mean it, and also he comes with an injury risk.

If we were picking in the 20s I think I’d be all over the idea of Tyson but I feel like at 14 it’s pretty meh

This I can agree with. He is definitely better in contested catch situations but the rest of their profile feels similar to me.
I just don't see much Bateman in there. Think Tyson is a better all around player that is smooth in everything he does, while Bateman won on nuance and technical ability. Of course, the latter hasn't translated as we had hoped, but Tyson has a much better profile in my opinion. I also wasn't as high on Bateman coming out as some so maybe that's my personal influence in this discussion seeping out.

I think he’s a top 5 talent in this draft if you take out the injury history. Problem is you can’t take that out. If he stays healthy, he could be a WR1 for a very long time. With our injury history with Bateman, that scares me a bit.

Agreed. Take out the injuries and I think we're talking him and Tate in the same breath.

Funnily enough though, Bateman had no injuries in college, so maybe this is the universe righting itself if we take Tyson.
