The Forty, the Fumble, and the Fucking Déjà Vu

Yeah both sides shoulder the load in this loss. Players made dumb mistakes and coaches compounded those mistakes with bad decisions.

But yeah you aren't wrong. I don't know how you fix your best players faltering in the most critical moments. It's wild how often it bites us. Just feels like we play with such a sense of paranoia when the moment is big.
If this was just a Lamar era thing sure... it's not that though. We've seen this with so many different variations of this team.
Because of the opponent and our aspirations we’re obviously all upset but lowkey the offense looked unreal until they were held back from winning. Go on a winning streak and we will forgive

Look at Bills schedule then ours. Making playoffs isn't my concern barring injuries.

Yeah, I just read a quote from Lamar where he said they were going to go for it on 4th down, but couldn't because he was cramping.

You have to go for it on that final final 4th & 3. You HAVE to. Really my only complaint of the game. Allen delivered maybe the best performance of his career and your watching in real time, you know you have to salt it with the ball in Lamar's hands.

There's no reason to fixate on any single thing. We probably made 35 serious mistakes. That's not an exaggeration. And thats how you lose a game you scored 40 in. Pick whatever you want, but thats not the point. The point is this team ia for the last decade, completely and perpetually capable of making extraordinary quantities of mistakes. So much so that they have multiple records to their name. Multiple records of no one has ever choked this hard.

Players fucked up plenty. PLENTY. But when talented rosters have players fucking up plenty for a decade, you tell me what's going on.

GM thinks he's a genius when he's not and the HC is well over the hill. Coordinators are highly suspect. Liable to get cutesy as fuck and to play soft as fuck.

I am not even sure the issue is the secondary when the line is allowing the Qb to just sit back there and pick us apart. Nobody was getting home.
While our rush certainly wasn't spectacular, you have to give it to Allen. He did a great job of eluding the rush and extending plays. It may not be popular to say here but the dude is a baller.

this how the eagles season went last year. Everyone calling for coaches head then all of a sudden shit comes together like week 9 and they go on a run.. can we do the same?

I mean, we started slower than them last year and really felt like we came into our own late in the season too. Didn't prevent the same mistakes. I don't think there are parallels. We just have to get out of our own way is how I see it, to put it simply. We're a good football team that is going to win plenty of games. We just need to win them when it matters.

Except when you die with it, you fans criticize John, Lamar, or anybody else for not punting. The only decision that won't get them criticism is the one that works.

I have applauded all of Harbaugh's failed 2 pt conversions to win. In today's game, you are in a shoot out vs a top qb you let your qb try to win it every time.

And that's fine. I'm more questioning whether Lamar would have been out there. If he wasn't, there's no universe where I'm going for it.

It’s like the coaches see the lead and just let up. We know that’s not Lamar’s style and for wherever reason we keep doing it.

We all know why we continue to do this..

That stubborn old man..

If Lamar tries and fails in that spot and they blame cramps, I think everybody lives with it and moves on. To not go out there and attempt a 5 yd pass will be hard for Harbs and jackson to live down imo. Ravens lost the game the second they punted.

Eh, cramping happens because the body is saying something is wrong. To play through it is one thing, but you can get injured more if you do. First game of the season? I’m definitely being cautious

The problem here isn’t the punt, it is everything before the punt. The punt never should’ve happened.

The Ravens lost TOP and it’s why we lost. This is a simple football game to analyze why we lost. We had the ball almost 10 minutes less than the Bills, yet we nearly won. Most of that came in the second half. This team was tired. It’s the first game of the season, there’s bound to be kinks. It sucks we got these guys as first draw, but it is what it is.

lol yeah I'm not sending a QB out there with cramps on 4th and 3 in week 1. That's both coaching and medical malpractice. I'd rather lose the game outright than take that kind of a risk. Lots of more games to be played.

The punt is one of many bad decisions or failures in execution. I could name 5 that had an exponentially bigger impact on the game than that one.

sometimes you just have to laugh.

I saw Vorhees do the same thing a few times.

It was fairly early in the game, but on one play, Vorhees was literally looking left and right like he was crossing the street. It was funny to see him stand there with his hands up, flat footed, looking around. Then I remembered he plays for the Ravens and I was sad.

Defense was gassed and wasn't stopping them for the rest of the night. You go make that one 1st down on 4th & 3. All the other stuff Ravens screwed up, all the stuff THEY screwed up (failed 2pt conversions all night) doesn't matter. These games between these teams and the Cheifs boil down to that last drive where the team that closes out the game with the ball in their hands wins.

you go for it. period. and I didn't see Lamar go into a blue tent or the locker room after downs 1-3 so yeah he's plenty goot to go . Get in shotgun, dial up a route and count on him as a QB, legs or no.
