Here's something that should provide a slight chuckle.
As the reigning "optimist" in the group, while it's obviously disappointing to blow the lead, I watched a ton of other teams play yesterday, and I have zero concerns.
For starters, Buffalo could easily be the best team we play all year. Last nights game looked easily like the two best teams in the AFC right now, and between a combo of our own mistakes and elite QB play on the other side, we lost a tight game that we largely dominated for most of it. The fact that there's no doubt that we are at least at their level, if not higher, is a very positive outlook.
Most importantly, I saw a lot of shit the last 72 hours. Especially from some of our "competitors". KC didn't look good at all. Cincinnati looked like an extremely one dimensional college offense that's easily exploitable. The Jets/Steelers looked good on paper, except when you watched the game, you realized neither of them could play defense worth a shit. Denver looked horrible in a win, Houston can barely move the ball against good defenses, and while I think the Colts are going to surprise some people, it's Daniel Jones after all.
The only team that actually impressed me in the AFC, outside of our game, was the Chargers.
Long term, I have no concerns about where this team is headed. It's, like usual, going to come down to the same concept. Will we get out of our own way in January, or not?
sometimes you just have to laugh.
week 1's always a liar
It is hard to let go of it when he continues to be terrible tbf. He wasn't the reason we lost last night of course not. But as you say he played bad again.I don't think Faalele was even good this game (the interior was getting abused and that includes Vorhees), but I do think he's got a giant target on his back from last year that people won't let go.
Clowney ?Sure we could have actually ran our offense the last few drives but good god it shouldn’t have mattered. I am so disgusted by the defense, this unit better step it up asap. EDC needs to go sign another pass rusher somehow

If they ever build a statue of John… this should be it.
The infamous “How did this happen to us?” facial expression. Guaranteed to show up 1-3x a year.
Well considering that we find new ways to lose games that we have like a 90+ percentage chance of winning in the 4th, there's a chance we may not even make it to the AFCCG if we lose key games.I’m guilty of doing it too but it’s pretty funny how reactionary this fanbase has been to a week 1 AFCCG preview
The hope is our key guys learn from the experience and perform differently in the future in clutch situations.Well considering that we find new ways to lose games that we have like a 90+ percentage chance of winning in the 4th, there's a chance we may not even make it to the AFCCG if we lose key games.
I saw Vorhees do the same thing a few times.
It was fairly early in the game, but on one play, Vorhees was literally looking left and right like he was crossing the street. It was funny to see him stand there with his hands up, flat footed, looking around. Then I remembered he plays for the Ravens and I was sad.
A great body means nothing without a brain. Orr is the problem. Give this same roster to half the DCs in the league and they'll perform a lot better.Sure we could have actually ran our offense the last few drives but good god it shouldn’t have mattered. Joe never lost an opening round game in the playoffs. Ever.Same damn song every year…
