Maybe, but it would've been really difficult to do so.They’d have gone on a 99 yard TD drive

A knot started forming in my stomach with a first Flowers sweep play call in the first half and having Hill on the run play into the box. Bills were ripe at that point, we could have made a big lead going into the 2nd half with a ball in Lamar's hands to open the 3rd Q.So was I the only one who was basically fully expecting that meltdown? From the moment we gave up that halftime field goal I knew we would be in for a long week. I just know this team, and I know what they’re capable of, very bad things.
I don’t really even get hurt anymore by it, I laugh when it happens because I knew it all along.
Plus that extra padding makes him look real fat.Ayyoo
Again... every playoff GAME he played here the defense has matched or exceeded Lamars defenses total playoff TOs.
And Ro been moving like 2012 Ray since last year
I feel like the “we don’t wanna throw but we need 10 yards” jet sweep has been used way too often. I could be imagining things, but I feel like it’s been a trend that it’s used in that exact situation oftenA knot started forming in my stomach with a first Flowers sweep play call in the first half and having Hill on the run play into the box. That makes more sense than cramping. Tell me he might have been low key concussed and I can move on from this.
How many times out of 10 Allen and Mahomes get a flag on that one?By league standards, I'm a little surprised that wasn't flagged. No letup on that hit. Yeesh.
John Harbaugh-
“Maybe part of it is we’ve been ahead a lot,” Harbaugh said at a press conference. “We’ve had a lot of two-score leads. We’ve kept a lot of those, but I think we’ve lost six of them if I’m not mistaken. That’s too many. I don’t care how many two-score leads you have. I do believe we need to be really thoughtful of how we approach the situations going forward. Let’s give it some thought. Let’s give some thought to our play-calling, let’s give some thought to our defensive play-calling, let’s give some thought to our mindset.”
It's all good folks!! He's going to give it some thought and we will be all good. What a joke smh.....
Some huge positives on my end:
Rodger rose looked pretty great. We never even discussed a sophomore slump because we'd be fucked if it happens but he's looking like an absolute steal. He created a lot of holes and held up well against a heavy blitzing opportunistic team
Chidobe looked really good on his snaps at corner. Pass rush played a top 3 line with a top 2 hardest qb to sack and will only get better.
Loop had a ton of kicks down the middle. Pretty good first game. Starks looked good. Hamilton looked like a dpoy if his body holds up from his tossing self tackles

The problem is we're doing it in the most important games. We got bounced by these guy's in the playoffs and it seems like we didn't learn anything. Yes, it comes down to player execution, eliminating mistakes, etc.. but I just can't stand how Harbaugh rarely ever holds himself accountable. He does allude to the play-calling in this statement but you'd think they would of learned this by now. We get a lead and instead of adding to the lead they play to protect the lead and not lose. Total mentality change when we have a lead. I kept saying it was too close for comfort a 15 pt lead with that much time left and they let off the gas like always. One thing I admired from Belichick was that even with a big lead they would not let down and just kept scoring.Yes we can bish and moan about it and get numbed to the fact we blow 1-2 of these every year. The flip side is we blow people out more than any other team and we haven't been blown out in ages. Also, you won't see me criticize the pass rush, I've seen enough to say Buffalo has maybe definitively moved past the Eagles as the top OLine in the league.
Maybe all this national pressure really will make him rethink his late game conservatism. We can only hope. That's quite literally the most promising thing he has ever said.
If there's one thing I've never been more confident in my life, it's that John Harbaugh, in the history of mankind, will never give zero fucks about "public pressure". Especially when it comes from fans.Maybe all this national pressure really will make him rethink his late game conservatism. We can only hope.
Harbaugh is occassionally capable of change if there's overwhelming evidence. He inherently distrusts the forward pass (unless it's a deep bomb to a fast guy) but Lamar being so good at it eventually wore him down a little. He would also have stayed far away from 4th downs, except that with Lamar, he was able to go for it through the run game - which he inherently trusts - and as they succeeded he was persuaded, little by little, to allow passing on 4th too.
If all this pressure can make him try keeping the foot on the gas for once, even with a lead, and it works, he might be amenable to trying it for a second time and so on. If it keeps working, we might see a real change in approach.
It's a slim sliver of hope - it has to work and keep working while the pressure is on - but it's better than no hope.

This!Coming up on 24 hours later... I think I'm most frustrated by the loss because it's probably a win against every other team but Buffalo this week - mistakes and all. Just happened to catch the team that could capitalize on them all. Part of the game when you're good - getting to face other teams that are just as good.
I was talking more about the big leads blown. The playoff issues are separate to me. The former is frustrating but has an equally encouraging counter stat, the latter is what sticks in my craw for real. I'll say this a bout the blown leads, most of them have had to do with decimated secondaries.
The more I distant the SNF loss gets in the rear view mirror, the easier it's getting for me to chalk it up to what i figured would be our weakness in the opening parts of the season: the completely revamped back half of the roster. I fully expected it would rear its head on ST and it did. But what i hadn't imagined is that opening week when your defense racks up 80 snaps you need those depth guys to play bigger roles than you want them to their first game in purple. One glance at the snap counts tells you what happened there.
