Yes. However LG, RG, and RT all sucked. No wants to hear it because they can't get beyond their biases, but Vorhees and Rosengarten had far worse nights than Faalele

It was basically Ed Oliver taking over the game at the end, Ed Oliver is a guy who has been on the border of elite for years and on any given day he can find that little extra and take over a game, which he did.It gets glazed over because we put up 40 but the OLine has me way more worried than the defense or ST. Defense is going to be awesome, the 4th qtr will be a blip, ST is off to a good start considering all the turnover in personnel imo. But that OLine, especially if Rosengarten has an unexpected down year is something that can wreck your season in a hurry. OLine lay like that against a good but not great Buffalo front will get Lamar killed.
It's going to take some time for this group to gel while facing live bullets. Training camp is so restricted anymore these guys don't really get a good feel for what's to come. I think they will be fine with some meaningful reps together. No wants to hear it because they can't get beyond their biases, but Vorhees and Rosengarten had far worse nights than Faalele
The Jets let A Rod throw 4 TDs, the Phish got blown out by the Daniel Jones Colts, the Patriots lost at home to the god damn Raiders. Their division isn’t doing shit. Easiest schedule in the league, even if we won the 1 seed was gonna be tough. Fuck their divisionI don’t know. “Easy” and “tough” are only relative to expectations and last year results. On paper it looks like it but it’s hard to say how those teams really are until EoY.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if their divisional opponents stole some wins. Jets specifically could do it. Vrabel is now running the show in NE and he could also beat them as well, depending. We will see what happens
Some of these are exaggerations but I’ll allow it for the memes
At least your 49ers won. Purdy with the classic should have been INT into a TD.Idek anymore man. Tired of this shit
Fuckin trash ass Sam DarnoldAt least your 49ers won. Purdy with the classic should have been INT into a TD.
Some huge positives on my end:
Rodger rose looked pretty great. We never even discussed a sophomore slump because we'd be fucked if it happens but he's looking like an absolute steal. He created a lot of holes and held up well against a heavy blitzing opportunistic team
Chidobe looked really good on his snaps at corner. Pass rush played a top 3 line with a top 2 hardest qb to sack and will only get better.
Loop had a ton of kicks down the middle. Pretty good first game. Starks looked good. Hamilton looked like a dpoy if his body holds up from his tossing self tackles
Early in the game?
I too am concerned big time about the OL, but also Buffalo has a better front than I think you’re giving credit for.
I think I know exactly the play you’re talking about he had a hell of a rush but Allen just stepped right on up and nullified itearly-ish
guessing he got chewed out on the sidelines for losing his rush lane and that might have changed how he played the rest of the game
Bills have dominated those teams for years, the Bills might lose 1 out of those 6 games. None of those teams will finish over .500I don’t know. “Easy” and “tough” are only relative to expectations and last year results. I feel like the actual Ravens problem is getting lost in all the discussion and dissection of individual players' snaps (good or bad). With all that's happened, we had a 40-25 lead against the good team, away, several minutes before the final whistle. As we know, all too well, not for the first time and, until the problem is fixed, it won't be the last.
This is my biggest concern. We're far past the "shit happens" stage. It's the same thing over and over again - coaches panicking and your best players making mistakes at critical moments. They can say that they're going to fix it all they want but it's far past the time to see it actually happen. New team, new coaches, new players... it hasn't mattered. It's a problem.I feel like the most frustrating aspect from the coaching and leadership standpoint is that each time appears to be treated in isolation. The media answer to whether or not these letups are an issue is that they're not connected, which I understand to say publicly. But it feels like John Harbaugh genuinely believes that. Which is why he's seen dumbfounded in the same fashion in each of these comebacks. That, to me, is the most inexcusable aspect, because we're seemingly going through the same motions that lead to the same result. Which is an exercise in futility. I hope it's being discussed behind the scenes. Whether it's hiring a sports psychologist or making an effort to address it among the players. If it's a taboo topic, it will only help further the trend.

The defense on the other hand, with all the resources we’ve absolutely DUMPED into it, should not look like it did, it’s completely inexcusable

I do think some of them are isolated. I think to a certain extent every event is independent. Play calling, clock management, etc.... those are coaching failures that are consistent. Lack of execution by individual players... there's no "solution" for that. The only viable solution is to change the player. And I don't see a lot of people suggesting we should cut Henry for fumbling, even though to a certain extent, that's what "accountability" looks like. This is my biggest concern.
