I’m guessing he’s still a week or two away. They were hoping he’d be back to practice before this game but that didn’t happen. Guessing that means he’s getting closer to a return. But even if he does return next week, I don’t know that that means he’s up and running for Monday with how much time he’s missed.

And also also, it feels like we got a gem in Teddye Buchanan. He’s still learning of course, but the early returns have been great and he’s effectively beaten Trenton out already. He's always around the ball which is a really good sign for a young player.

This game was a total microcosm of the Lamar Jackson era. Shades of every single trope. This team feels as untrustworthy as ever.

If I had to quickly comment about what I find most unsettling are these 4 things.

1) Monken really struggles to adjust when his run is taken away
2) OL still sucks
3) Orr still calls really soft plays and we give up end of half points
4) We cant catch easy gift interceptions. That's led to 14 points in the last 2 games and one loss.

It's simple, but it's the same shit.

My guy says he can confirm that Jaire being inactive today was a reflection on his lack of readiness last week. Said they realized he was flat and probably not ready to play, and wanted to give him time to get back in game shape. Injuries might necessitate it anyways, but expect him to back up in the next game or two.

Today's NFL training camp does not get guys into game ready shape. If they don't do it on their own it takes some a game or 2 for them to get used to the contact. If I recall he started slow last year too.
