The Andrews, the Defense, and the Blocking

I'm super happy to have him for depth, but John Jenkins shouldn't be our best front seven player of the day. The amount of impact they had from Jack Campbell and Aidan Hutchinson was magnified by the void we had in any two defenders stepping up.
And Travis Jones hobbled off the field a couple of times so I don’t think it’s getting better either…

Was he at all hurt coming into this game? I was very much hoping he'd be an X-factor today, but he was virtually non-existent.

if this team can’t get it together defensively , we may not make the playoffs this year, wasting another year of Lamar in his prime.

Harbs and Co. were completely out coached in this one.

Lamar was getting killed back there , we can’t have that.

He was healthy. They also doubled him frequently though. They knew the guy they needed to take out of the game with Madubuike down and they succeeded.

Also gotta give Derrick Henry a ball and tell him not to drop it for a week. Take that shit everywhere he goes.

The formula for winning a SB is still

Top 10 QB
Top OL
Top Pass Rush

Until EDC builds that team instead of playing "money ball", we'll continue squandering Lamar's career
It's the D line stuff that annoys me most.

We're a light box team who keeps spending on DBs and going cheap up front, so the back end has the advantage of numbers and the high paid/drafted players whereas the D line has to play with fewer bodies and we still cheap out on spending picks or money there.

It makes no sense.

We didn't even see flashes on defense. Like what Nate broke up a single pass? Oweh made on TFL? Jenkins made one run stop? Played a million snaps of defense and maybe 5 were good
Just those and Marlon and Nate each made a play and that was all we got. We barely even slowed them down

I've said for years EDC is a weird GM and only time would reveal if that weirdness is good or bad. And it's just so obviously bad
