The Andrews, the Defense, and the Blocking

This offense with that finesse O-line needs to be perfect. Turnover on downs from the goal line was reminded me of the Bills game when Bateman came down with a Lamar bomb and we could not punch it in with Henry and settled for a 3.

We need to keep the ball in Lamar's hands and let him make decisions from the gun. This O-line can't be trusted.

The guard play is horrific .

I guess the mods didn’t like my pessimistic next up thread….

If we could only win one out of Lions Chiefs, even if Lions are better, symbolically I’d rather have Cheifs. Maybe they’ll play with pride, idk.

Seemed like the Lions were able to channel their revenge from 2023 on us, can we ever get revenge?

30 pressures is crazy.
We keep drafting projects at the most important positions in the hopes they develop.... OVER TIME while having a wide open Super Bowl window. We need to stop drafting projects at guard, stop drafting project pass rusher and defensive lineman.

Need to start firing position coaches who aren't coaching players to make plays. Bring in a whole new staff at this point... at 1-3 after we lose to the Chiefs we can tank and finally get a premium pass rusher just like the Browns and Lions were rewarded premium pass rushers for sucking.

Yeah I don't think the run defense had much of a shot against the Detroit offense, they just wore us down and it wasn't pretty. Probably missing Pierce a bit in that regard. Also a couple key guys out in the pass rush department and no one else really stepped up although credit to Detroit, they have some dudes up front.

It is still early in the season so time to make a key trade or 2 to shore up the defense, I think they will have to if they want to fix some of these issues on the line. I won't say coaching is perfect but I do think the issue last night is the Lions were just better in the trenches and I don't think any coaching was going to fix that. The good news is most teams aren't stacked in the trenches like the Lions but it is a concern come playoff time.

The more concerning thing for me was the offense, kinda curious to hear why there were so many sacks, was Lamar holding onto the ball too long trying to make something happen, was the line getting beat like a drum, a bit of both? They will need to shore that unit up for sure if they want to do anything this year. May be worth making some changes here as well, potentially a trade is something to consider as well. I do think the Lions playing ball control kept their defense fresher so they could keep making plays at the end.

This is the first game since the Eagles one last year where I felt the Ravens just got straight up beat by a better team.

I won't get too worked up over losing competitive games to the Lions and Bills as I think the back half of the schedule is where we can make a run with the right adjustments and outside maybe the Packers or Rams, these are the best teams we will play this year.

Mads, KVN , Ricard, likely is bad foursome to miss v.s Detroit. Key guys for physical games. But yeah it's so rare for baltimore to actually get beat like that.

Anyways it just seems like the entire regular season doesn't matter this year. The Ravens will coast to NFC North title because rest of division is ASS. no way we catch Buffalo for 1 seed but we knew that after week 1. so really 12-5 or 13-4 or even 11-5 is all just about an extra divisional rd HF game instead of travelling to Los angeles or indy (who cares).

wake me up when playoffs start.

Trenches got dominated

Can't win like that

For those in any doubt, you see the value of Nnamdi Madubuike from his absence yesterday

OL has played 3 really great DL but has been found wanting every week so far - and it looked like Lamar was almost spooked a bit in the 2nd half... we can't go back to 2021 where the OL was so bad that it altered Lamar's rhythm (which is hard to do) and ultimately led to him not finishing the season

That being said, Henry's played behind worse OL than this and produced more

Do you think Mike McDonald recommended Orr? There seemed to be a few other on staff options
Shit idk! Idk Who would recommend a coach with no experience to go against the best. Idk if they didnt want zach to leave or what but making him dc with basically no experience was a crazy move to me. Orr mustve lied and said he was gonna replicate macdonald scheme or something lol.
