The Injuries, the Defense and the Offense (and the Special Teams)

Roquan. Sorry, I generally use full names to start. Figured I'd omit it here as implied, but it's a super common last name.
Ahhhh! That that’s right! I forgot his last name was Smith. Honestly I’m less worried about Roquan and Humphrey. The biggest concern is Madubuike and naturally Lamar

NO WAY. Are there any sources on this to follow? That would be absolutely devastating.
From an article in the Banner; Not sure if it was just a slip up or what, but sounds ominous.

Following Week 2’s win over the Cleveland Browns, Madubuike showed “symptoms” of what was later ruled a neck injury, according to coach John Harbaugh. While he wouldn’t go into detail, Harbaugh did express concern it could be longterm.

Madubuike is just 27 years old. A two-time Pro Bowler, he finishes his career with 30 sacks, 203 tackles, including 69 for loss, in 78 games.

Harbaugh. While he wouldn’t go into detail, Harbaugh did express concern it could be longterm.

I suspect it’s due to the way Harbaugh was avoiding answering how it may impact his career. I was worried about that from the start because neck injuries rarely become better especially if it’s IR related.

That’s expansive journalism where they take lack of clarification on the question as more affirmation of the question. They may not be wrong but there’s nothing there won’t they Harbaugh won’t comment on whether the injury impacts Madubuike’s career and will leave it up to him to speak on when he is ready

Some of the comments I see are concerning. If, and I say IF, Lamar did in fact fake an injury and quit on the team yesterday, that shows a total lack of leadership and is very unprofessional.
You would never see Mahomes, Allen, Mayfield, etc. give up regardless of the score. It’s frustrating to keep losing to the Chiefs but you don’t take the ball, quit, and go home. You put on your helmet and get back in the game.
I certainly hope that is not the case.

I don’t believe Lamar faked any injury. That has never been his attitude and would be one of the most surprising things that happened this season. It is contrary to his character.

With that said, I can believe the team removed him to protect him because he may be hurt. That I do believe and I’m sure anyone would agree with that approach. Lamar is taking a beating the past two weeks and he can’t hold up if he keeps getting hit like this.

I think the goal was the former for this game. How about our multiple 3rd and shorts where we took Henry off the field and passed only to get blown up by another Spagnola blitz.

I’m usually one to agree that the run the damn ball critique is an easy out that ignores context, but I do think we stopped trying to run it too early. Lamar has got to work on his outlet game instead of taking sacks. Something is just off and it’s cascading now
I didn't love most of our short yardage play calls. That being said... Henry is not a good short yardage back. Never has been. I think people just look at the size and think he's good without actually looking at the data or realizing what it means.

Harbaugh said he wasn't going back in regardless. Nobody reasonable thinks he quit. The point was that, without knowing the severity of the injury, it's not hard to justify sitting out the rest of the game when you're down like 17-20 points and are at least partially injured.

Jackson hasn't really looked to move around that much since the Bills game. He hasn't looked like his usual self in terms of mobility

Remember when Lamar pulled himself out of the game with the Bills where he said his leg was cramping? Im wondering if he pulled his hammy in this game becasue he has not been as mobile since.

Ed Oliver ruined our season

I wouldn't go that far. The offense has looked fine all things considered and they have managed to score a ton of points. Yesterday, IMO, the biggest issue was what we called knowing the blitz was coming.

John seemed to really take issue with Todd
