Next Up: Bye Week

I think most teams are screwed without their starting QB, it's not just a Ravens thing.
Bengals just put up 18 with Flacco having 3 days of practice, they’ve gotten good production from Browning in the past too. 49ers look fine without Purdy.

Monken can’t even scheme up 10 points? That just shows you why he always gets outcoached by Spagnola

The only "perk" to Rush is that it appears NFL teams are actually mildly respectful of the fact that he can, and will, throw it down field. I think that had at least partially to do with why the running game was effective yesterday.

I think most NFL teams, when attempting to defend Huntley, would put 11 defenders within five yards of the LOS, on every snap, and say "go ahead Tyler, I fucking dare you to throw the ball". And I don't think the read option is effective when there's 10 guys defending the run game.
I think Huntley's effectiveness in the 4th quarter, especially on scrambles, had everything to do with the style of D the Rams are playing up 14 in the 4th quarter. They'll let you run all you want between the 20s. Then the field shortens, and all of the sudden problems arise. Not surprising.
I hope it’s a moot point and Lamar plays every game remaining, but this is why I still think we go with Rush. I cannot stand watching Huntley play football and he should have been banned from Baltimore after what he did

So I overall agree with the premise, though few things I'd say:
1. Mac Jones >>>>>> Huntley or Rush. And Kyle Shanahan >>>> Todd Monken. We all know this. I think the 49ers have struggled on defense quite a bit with their injuries. Yes, that team is coached significantly better than the Ravens are.
2. In regards to WAS, I think contextually I'd say that playing HOU and LAR defenses (both of which are very strong) isn't the same as playing LV and ATL defenses. I'd have definitely liked to have seen what this offense, without Lamar, would have looked like against CHI and MIA, rather than HOU or LA.
There were things to like yesterday. ~300 yards of offense without Lamar is pretty strong. We dominated time of possession, and we were in the red zone three times. The obvious problems... turnovers (both by the QB and by your stud players), penalties and lack of finish in the red zone.

I think against HOU we were offensively inept. I don't think we were offensively inept yesterday.
Man, skins really did well bringing in Marcus. He's a starter on many teams.
I stumbled across an article that was saying Mariota will be the next Steelers QB. That would suck for us.

The floor can't be this low when Lamar is gone. It just can't.

6 points a game

Once lamar comes back, our problems will not go away lol. Oline still ass and pass rush and defense will still be ass. We play some struggling offenses so defense will look a lil better so fans gonna think we are doing something but in reality, defense still ass.

It's lower than I would have expected, BUT, knowing what we know about the Oline and the struggles in the run game this year, it's not surprising.

That's difference between 2025 and like 2021. We could run the ball on anybody even if they knew we were doing it. We can't really do that this year.

If we had a D that I felt could hold most teams under 20, and a run game, I'd be the first guy in on the Huntley train. Give me the most conservative, will do nothing special but won't turn the ball over guy you can find. Huntley ain't even that guy, but still.
But we don't have consistency in either of those things.

Probably. But you play the teams on your schedule. We don't control what the other teams offensive abilities are.
I think the D is most likely to improve. And I think the Oline isn't ass all the time, but highly inconsistent.

Regardless, against non-elite Ds, I think we'll still score 20-25 points or more every week with Lamar out there. Which puts us in a spot to win most of those games.

Would love if a move was made for a guard over the bye. Know it's tough to get it done with the cap situation but they can't expect this to work if they seriously want to turn things around... without staff changes.

There's no Buffalo, KC or LA on our schedule after the bye. That should help.

I think it was him that whiffed on the surefire game-ending sack on Herbert, wasn't it? If so, he'd fit right in with all of the almost sacks we had in the last 6-7 years or so.

Yep, yep. Would be the perfect catalyst for the exit. And we'd get to watch an edge rusher get close to the quarterback for once this season. It's a win-win.

We saved Derrick Henry from that mess in Nashville, even further proof given they just fired another Head Coach. Now... we are becoming a mess. Sorry Derrick, I know this is what you left in Tennessee but things will get better!

I want to know is there a college pass rusher in next draft worth a top 10 pick?

Let's be honest, we're not turning around anything this season. Not with this staff, not with these trenches. The hole is too deep. Sure, Lamar can win some games but we're never beating Steelers (let alone twice), Vikings or Packers. Pats will be tough and you never know with the rest of divisional games. Reality is, we can only hurt our draft stock if we try to do something now and we can't possibly improve enough everywhere we're lacking.

For lack of scoring yesterday I'd look more to some poor QB play, turnovers and our lineman losing one on one battles, rather than coaching.

Oh? I wonder if we're this mystery team. :eyes::eyes:

I’d be hard pressed to consider us as a mystery team at this stage. It’s pretty well known.

Also Josina is a prime engagement farmer nowadays. Says something without saying a damn thing.

The rungame was working and I’m not sure we did a single play action with Henry, definitely not enough of it

Yea i def dont see this shit turning around this season! Im not optimistic type in these situations though lol, especially when us looking ass has nothing to do with injuries cause we were bad before lamar got hurt. Defense sucked with orr last year and this year. Oline sucked last year and this year.
