Next Up: Bye Week

I want to know is there a college pass rusher in next draft worth a top 10 pick?

Let's be honest, we're not turning around anything this season. Not with this staff, not with these trenches. The hole is too deep. Sure, Lamar can win some games but we're never beating Steelers (let alone twice), Vikings or Packers. Pats will be tough and you never know with the rest of divisional games. Reality is, we can only hurt our draft stock if we try to do something now and we can't possibly improve enough everywhere we're lacking.

Rueben Bain aside, I've not done any homework on this class so far. But a lot of classes have a difference maker available into the teens. I was quietly hoping we'd have given up picks to move up for Jared Verse last year since I think he's more of an anomaly in availability, but if there's anyone near that level this year that could slip, I hope we pounce.

Playing catch up, but Harbaugh's bye week presser was interesting...

Emery Jones hasn't been able to do pass protection work in practice yet, although he should get reps there this week. Seems he's going to be on the 53 when his window closes, but probably still not an option for awhile.

Riding the fence on Rush vs. Huntley, but is basically crossing his fingers that Lamar is back so he doesn't have to decide between shit and poop.

Seemed to have called Ricard out and said it's up to him to get back out there. Interesting being that he's arguably one of the tougher guys on the team.

Straight up said Aeneas Peebles is not a run stuffer and that's why he sat... yet we have limited interior pass rush.

I really fucking hate this ideology that says a guy has to be at least decent at everything in order to get on the field.

Sometimes it’s ok to have your guys be pass rush specialists and learn how to run stuff in live action, and vice versa

Seemed to pull this shit with Kruger and stunt his development.

And I'll never let it go this bastard wouldn't play Antwan Barnes

Peebles is exactly the guy you want against mcvays offense, he can move laterally and penetrate, it’s textbook for shutting down zone heavy run games AND the play action you run off of it.

Barnes may have been our best pass rusher in I think 08. Didn’t have the snap count to show it statistically but he was wreaking havoc consistently

The more I hear Harbaugh talk, the more im convinced that he's just totally lost like everyone else. No one ever says anything that makes any sense.

Feel like as cliche as this bullshit is good times make weak men. It's been so good for so long because Lamar is the best player in the league. But what it's meant is he's masked the issues and they dont actually get addressed.

The team's never been forged. It's just coasted until it gets tough and then it folds. When that happens 8 years in a row, it's the roster construction and coaching.

This is what baffles me the most. End of the bar fans see it but professionals seem oblivious. We won't pay the edge rusher or guard but if you're a linebacker or safety just tell us how much.

Honestly I hope he recovers but we're going to need to hope Mads can come back from that injury. My gut says that probably isn't happening but we seriously need to hit on a pass rusher this upcoming draft. The DL is really bad right now from a pass rush stand point and its going to require a trade up IMO. I think we need to move up a couple spots to get someone. We really need to be aggressive there. If we're picking in the top 10 then I think we should have some options.

it's like they've decided that 3rd down isn't important lol

even if he only plays on 3rd and long, he should be active if he's a potential difference maker on that 1 down

Andrews has been uber successful with it between the 20s. But the red zone and especially the goal line are a different beast. I'd at least like to see us practice Henry there at the goal line, which doesn't seem like it'll be happening.

But when you got a guy that can be versatile and can stop run and get after the passer it helps your defense alot. it also helps your defense from being one dimensional, I think Yannick Nagkoue experience likely should have taught us that because it didn't work out at all. Ravens went against the chiefs whom rushing attack has been poor and their biggest run in the game was a end around play from Xavier Worthy in which was legit allowed cause Odafe Oweh sucked at setting the edge.

I think it's clear the ravens like Peebles for last sunday game is the first game where he was inactive and honestly his value to the team likely makes sense when you able to put a offense in good third and long situations which the defense has had trouble doing cause they have sucked at stopping the run, tackling in space, and etc until the game against the Rams. Harbaugh decision to have him on the inactive list makes some sense to me especially if the main concern was Kyren Williams and the rest of the running backs on the rams roster given the team trouble. The thought process was probably was that they could count on Tavius Robinson to rush the passer but he end up breaking his foot

I don't see Harbs surviving another coordinator firing. it would be a full house cleaning if they can't rally to the playoffs imo.
With some of the comments being made by the tea. I'm honestly worried that this team fucks around and makes it into the playoffs and that saves Harbaugh and Orr's asses for another season

Be interesting to see what the Ravens decide to do with Taven Bryan. Maybe they could use him like they did with Jihad Ward especially given that Tavius Robinson will be out for some time

I hate the play at the goal line, especially when it’s someone other than the QB under center. All 11 D can just sell out and crash the middle. At least if the QB runs the play they have to respect that he may not run the sneak.
