2026 Baltimore Orioles

Planning out which days I want to go to Training Camp, and I'd really like to go to an Orioles home game since it's been since high school for me I was last at Camden Yards for an Orioles game. The way this team is playing though...... maybe.

Don't go to a Divisional game.

The day after opening day is the best! The hype is great and the game too for Opening Day, but there's no crowd fighting or amateur hour drunkenness the day after.

Yeah, just trying to see what works best for me and my schedule. I was looking at the 8th & 9th practices but the Orioles are out of town playing the Rangers that weekend. I'd have to come into town sooner for that home series against the Angels.

...another 3 or fewer runs scored game that we lose.

Why in the world was Blaze running on the 1 out grounder to shallow SS in the 9th?!!!!! That is Little League taught - you're staying put when the ball is fielded and only taking off at the throw to first, if at all. Literally the next batter - Alonso, scorches a ball thru the IF that would have scored Blaze easily and tied the game.

These guys don't understand the game. Blaze and the 3rd base coach need to be in the office five minutes after they're off the field.

The Orioles are not a fundamentally sound team.

Another 4 run game we lose.

I was watching the game at Theisman's in Alexandria yesterday for a little while. Guy saw my O's hat; he was from Balto too. When the Nats scored their fifth run I said the O's were going to lose. Then they scored their 6th and I said the fat lady just sang. lol I told him their 3-4 run W-L record. He looked stunned. He said, "How can they be so terrible?" There was a lot I could have said, but I told him, "At least we have 5 guys that can play multiple positions. They aren't very good at those positions and they can't hit very well either, but it's good to have that flexibility."

I wonder if there's a way to bet on a live game to capitalize on our terrible record in 3-4 run games?

Bobby Bonilla was at the game yesterday. He was the "Who is the Oriole?" segment for yesterday's game. ;) I wonder how many other players there are that are still getting paid like this. There have to be others, but certainly not with the same crazy numbers as these two. Bonilla signed that contract in the 1990's ffs!

really?

Orioles closer Ryan Helsley heads to injured list with elbow discomfort

CINCINNATI — The Orioles are set to be without their closer once again. Right-hander Ryan Helsley was placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort, marking his second injured list stint this season.

The Orioles recalled right-hander Anthony Nunez from Triple-A Norfolk to fill out their bullpen. Before Nunez was optioned in June, he was one of three Orioles relievers with more than one save this season, joining Helsley and right-hander Rico Garcia.

Baltimore also recalled infielder Jeremiah Jackson and designated catcher Chadwick Tromp for assignment. That alteration gives the Orioles more positional flexibility rather than carrying three catchers on the roster.

Nunez, a rookie, broke out earlier this season. He held a 2.35 ERA at the end of April. But over the next few weeks, Nunez saw his ERA elevate to 4.98. In Triple-A, Nunez allowed five earned runs in five outings.

Helsley joined the Orioles this offseason, signing a two-year, $28 million with a player option for 2027. He leads the Orioles with eight saves.

Helsley missed almost two months with elbow inflammation earlier this season, but his MRIs from that bout showed no structural damage. On Wednesday, however, discomfort cropped up again. He had been warming to enter in the ninth inning of a win, but with a barking elbow, he couldn’t pitch.

“My level of concern with something like that is always high. It’s almost like you prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” manager Craig Albernaz said after Wednesday’s win.

Baltimore opted to recall Jackson a week after optioning him, as well. That could spell the end of Tromp’s time in the organization if the catcher is claimed off waivers.
