Ravens Ring of Honor
Yeah people need to realize this was his 4th career NFL start.Think they just have a young QB who isn’t quite ready. Lots of poor choices in the game. I like what McCarthy can be but he’s not a great processor yet.

And doesn’t have a great college throwing career either. They leaned so heavily on the run.Yeah people need to realize this was his 4th career NFL start.
He’s a Tebow type with a better release. And doesn’t have a great college throwing career either. They leaned so heavily on the run.
The regression of Faalale, Vorhees and Rosengarten kinda stuck. It's time to acknowledge how much we are missing d'alessandris and start calling for a new OLine coach/running game coordinator. Monken's got his faults, but his route concepts are very nice and Lamara is thriving. It's the running game and OLine that is making these short yardage/goal line situations such a hassle.
he's kinda where Drake Maye was last year.
I wonder what the coaches are teaching him to do… does he think it’s a pass play? Go hit someone dude..
I feel like he cant be as handsy at los though and like you say he cant catch anyway so that would make me target him every time its 1v1..I don't think him playing with a cast would disrupt his ability to defend in coverage specifically. I think it impacts his ability to tackle and to catch the ball (which he won't be doing a lot of regardless). If he were like a linebacker, I'd have gigantic concerns. But I think its really only hampering his ability to tackle.
Naw.. i was super confident in drake maye this year that i took his over passing of 3250 before season started..you could see it in drake last season, cant see anything in jj besides some bad decisionshe's kinda where Drake Maye was last year.
It also couldve been a pass.. he likely was scared to get the blocking down field penalty im assumingI can’t stand faalele but this is fine. You’re making the defender either pick a side and give Lamar an easy read, or force him to engage when you have a 100+lb and 3 inch reach advantage

and if they engage, it creates another easy read for lamar too
there are all sorts of reps to criticise Faalele for (especially this week) but again this is not the rep to do it - feel like (mostly) all the DF haters keep picking the wrong reps to illustrate his failings
I will never understand the aversion this team has running slants and quick passes. It's so obvious to me that we need to do that more often to set up the run and deeper drops. I am sick and tired of watching Lamar take steps back and constantly getting heat or a Henry run on 1st that met at or behind the line of scrimmage.
This is a finesse line. We are not a power running team. So unless Lamar is going to task himself with running 1k a year again, the offense must adjust.
Spread the offense out and let Lamar make decisions or quick pass out of the run formations. I like the Likely and Kolar combo ALOT and Kolar is really showing some athleticism out there.
Keaton gives the run game game that boost we lack on the outside by simply making guys miss with his speed.
Starks and Green are really turning things up over the last few weeks. Pleased with that.
the defensive rookies really stepping up as we get into the season - basically 3 starters and all contributing high level snaps already at this point:
1st rounder: Malaki Starks
2nd rounder: Mike Green
4th rounder: Teddye Buchanan (what a steal he's turning into)
also notable that Carson Vinson was active ahead of Joe Noteboom - Noteboom was rubbish in relief of Stanley when he came in last time, but Vinson was so far away from ready during preseason, exciting development if he's hit the level that they're happy with him as the swing tackle
and we'll have to see how/if Emery Jones Jr can progress and get himself active at some point this season
Off topic but dan campbell was calling the plays yesterday during commanders game. I dnt even know what to think about that lol.. like how? does he have an offensive background? Was he just calling plays for certain guys who he wanted to touch the ball?
Not always going to be 1v1. In zone it never is, and depending on the route combo's, he's going to have help.I feel like he cant be as handsy at los though and like you say he cant catch anyway so that would make me target him every time its 1v1..
So I did a little googling because I was curious about that as well and the answer is yes Campbell has an offensive background, he played tight end from 99-09 and went into coaching shortly after retiring. This is actually the second season where Campbell has taken over playcalling halfway through a season in Detroit, he did the same back in 2021.Off topic but dan campbell was calling the plays yesterday during commanders game. It didn’t look like a pass at any point, it could’ve been but it didn’t look like it. Just looked like a strategy to me and not a bad oneIt also couldve been a pass.. he likely was scared to get the blocking down field penalty im assuming
